Race is also a social construct. Does that mean that it would be perfectly fine for you or I to expect equal consideration for a grant for "African Americans"?

So according to the current trends regarding social constructs, I should be able to list my race as whatever I identify as on official forms, or even make up a whole new race and expect everyone else to support it and cater to my whims

My genetics don't dictate that I am Chinese because race is a social construct. It's all about what everyone identifies as themselves. There's a potentially infinite number of races and people should be able to decide what their race is based on how they feel.
