Wolverine vs. Spider-Man

Literary standards... Liking Wolverine...

I'm sorry; does not compute.

What are the chances of you exercising your godly mod powers reprimanding certain posters for citing PIS, Pr? I'm getting tired having to post the same thing over and over again. Or do you only do that if someone argues Doomsday doesn't have any speed feats greater than the Hulks? 🙁

Why? Just because Wolverine hasn't had a good story arc since 1999? 😮

That's only a decade and some change bro! It could be worse, the Maple Leaf's haven't won the cup since 1967. 🙁

At least there was that really good Wolverine movie!

Some old rebuttal to counter the same old argument, the different between to two of us is that I'm right. This isn't even a two sided argument, I've presented facts... and you've done nothing except for suggest that Spider-man koing Wolverine should be considered valid for some reason even though it is clearly inconstant with the level he normally operates on.

I could like Superman *shutter*, luckily I have literary standards so that's not much of a problem. Let me know if the someone on the bumbling writing staff on Superman takes a writing class at a community center and finally learns about pathos or how to write a compelling character. 😎

No, I was the fact that you've already made your mind and discarded everything that doesn't suits you as a flimsy cover of PIS and expect everyone to believe that your opinion somehow outweighs the actual feats and fights of characters. Its like talking to a brick wall except he brick wall would be less stiff.

Yeah, that's why wolverine has so many classic stories and has been written by some of the best writers in comic industry like Grant Morrison, Alan Moore and the likes and even a mediocre writer can write some of the best comics in history like Superman:Red son and the same writer when tackling wolverine wrote two masterpieces like EOTS and OML, Oh wait........ If only superman could say "Bub" and grunt majority of the times you'd like him too but alas.

I don't read every post. Though tbh, I don't agree that Logan getting knocked out by anything less than Hulk is PIS.

The examples of Wolverine shrugging off the equivalent of Class 100 blows, far out weigh the amount of times he has been knocked out by any force be it Class 100 or "far less." That isn't my opinion, that's a fact. It's undeniable. My "opinion" is based on immutable prove. What is your opinion based on? Seemingly nothing more than the desire to low ball Wolverine and sustain some twisted confirmation bias. You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts, and the simple reality is that facts are on my side. The amount of times Wolverine has shrugged off a Class 100 blow far outweigh the times he has been koed. There isn't two sides to this argument, frankly you have no leg to stand on. I'm right and you come off petty and uninformed trying to argue otherwise without a shred of evidence to back your claims.

Superman isn't exactly blowing down the doors with classic stories himself and he's been on the scene a lot longer than Wolverine has. All-star Superman and What Ever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? Are the only Superman stories I would consider classics of the medium that everyone must read. The standalone Wolverine story The Package, I would consider a classic, and the Origin mini was close if it didn't fall flat on it's face at the finish line. Not a huge dirth between the two. Neither of them is Daredevil.

You should read Superman: Secret Identity.

Honestly, all jokes aside, there are at least a half-dozen Superman stories that I'd recommend you read if you were ever inclined.

They won't be as good as Secret Identity, though.

I think I'm fairly up to date on all the lauded Superman stories pre Nu52, I just don't find him to be a particularly captivating character. Honestly IMO he is the least interesting part of any story he is in, it's the interplay with the cast of characters built around him that makes him work. /shrug

You know what you should probably do.

Read Superman: Secret Identity.

Yes, that was an excellent book.

If only Wolverine was half as funny as you then he could floor Spidey with nothing but jokes.

I haven't read too much Wolverine [just starting to get more stuff on the character] but I almost wanted to kill myself after reading The Best There Is....I've read most of Origins, a good chunk of his second and third volumes and some one shots like Unfinished Business and Manifest Destiny, and I haven't read anything that's even in the same ball park as Kingdom Come, Red Son or All Star
