Wolverine vs. Spider-Man

Started by cdtm1,019 pages

Funny thing, one of the most interesting Wolverine shows is one where he didn't even get top billing. I speak of the Hulk/Wolverine cartoon. They could have left out Hulk alltogether, and it wouldn't really have changed too much (Although the Hulk/Wolverine fighting was pretty cool)

When it comes to Wolverine as a solo character that could carry a series, though... I don't know. At heart, he's Marvels action hero. And as awesome as action movies were, lets be honest, they're only good in small doses..

Deadpool or Lobo are pretty one dimensional too, but at least they mix humor mixed in humor their badassery to keep things somewhat fresh..

I haven't read too much Wolverine [just starting to get more stuff on the character] but I almost wanted to kill myself after reading The Best There Is....I've read most of Origins, a good chunk of his second and third volumes and some one shots like Unfinished Business and Manifest Destiny, and I haven't read anything that's even in the same ball park as Kingdom Come, Red Son or All Star

Logan Files were good, same with Origin.

Old Man Logan was pretty kick ass, Wolverine is an entertaining character and has some decent stories but I haven't seen anything as memorable as some Superman stories.

If you didn't think about it too much.

Like how somehow, Abomination was sharing power with Doom. 😱

Claremont's and Miller's first mini was pretty damn good.

It was incredible, but current Wolverine is just so far removed from that character.

I love the book where Wolverine gets his head shoved into the pavement, IIRC it was Avenging Spider-Man 16.

Wolverine is so unlucky that Spidey might take it. Take Uncanny X-Men #112 for example:
First Logan falls out of Magneto's circus wagon which overloads his healing factor and liquifies his brain.
The other non-flying X-Men somehow manage to stay conscious after the fall and battle Magneto while Logan naps.
Then his healing factor finally kicks in and he wakes up, only to knock himself out again by the end of the same page.
Tough, tough day.

Mags humiliated Parker, too.

That was before Wolverine had a healing factor written into his character.

JUST LOOK AT THE POLLS! Spidey is killing on the numbers, like he should be. Only a few fanboys left to argue an impossible cause.

Kinda surprised you're not banned yet.

A life time of observation and reflection should have tipped you off to the sad fact that the vast most people are stupid. Being aligned with a majority is rarely a good thing, it usually it means you aren't smart enough to be right.

Have a beautiful day!

Coming from a guy that believes 100's of Wolverine showings are PIS, that's rather funny.

Even one of the most loyal Spidey supporters on this board doesn't seem to bother to recruit him for Avengers Alliance:

Parker turns in his grave 😂 Seems like only Sam is a genuine fan...

In order for them not to be PIS THOUSANDS of Wolverine's would need to be... but apparently that is more reasonable in your estimation.

Are you a pharmaceutical test patient? Seriously, how are you so broken?

By all means, start providing the thousands of examples where Logan heals from total organ liquefaction in under a second.

The examples of Wolverine shrugging off the equivalent of Class 100 blows, far out weigh the amount of times he has been knocked out by any force be it Class 100 or "far less." That isn't my opinion, that's a fact. It's undeniable. My "opinion" is based on immutable prove. What is your opinion based on? Seemingly nothing more than the desire to low ball Wolverine and sustain some twisted confirmation bias. You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts, and the simple reality is that facts are on my side. The amount of times Wolverine has shrugged off a Class 100 blow far outweigh the times he has been koed. There isn't two sides to this argument, frankly you have no leg to stand on. I'm right and you come off petty and uninformed trying to argue otherwise without a shred of evidence to back your claims.

Superman isn't exactly blowing down the doors with classic stories himself and he's been on the scene a lot longer than Wolverine has. All-star Superman and What Ever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? Are the only Superman stories I would consider classics of the medium that everyone must read. The standalone Wolverine story The Package, I would consider a classic, and the Origin mini was close if it didn't fall flat on it's face at the finish line. Not a huge dirth between the two. Neither of them is Daredevil.

Like I said there is nothing I want to discuss with you of all people how difficult its to KO wolverine. I'd rather talk to a wall. That would be more flexible to my reasoning.😛

I can add at least a dozen other classic stories from last two decades and numerous others from silver age like Action 775, For the man who has everything, Hitman 34, DCP 85 by Alan Moore, Superman for all seasons, Birthright, Red Son, Superman😛eace on earth, Kingdom Come, Superman adventures, Superman Classified:Kryptonite and a lot more. Wolverine isn't daredevil but the only character who has more classic stories than superman is batman not daredevil. You can disagree but superman is a lot higher than wolverine in classic storytelling and that's why there are so many versions of him. You just considering Origins in the same ballpark as All star or WHTTMOT invalidates anything you say from now on.

sneer

😛

Origin, not Origins. Big difference, buddy.
