Maybe the reason Spiderman couldn't break the tombstone is because he was ounching as fast as he could. That's not the same as winding up for a big punch. I believe he said something along the lines of "I can't let up for even a second." He was very afraid Wolverine would kill him. That's why I think the tombstone didn't get destroyed.

look.. you have aplank of balsa wood to punch through but infront of it is a slab of metal you start hitting the metal over and over and over it doesn't get sent through the blank.. why? cause the metal absorbed most of the impact... it doesn't need to absorb as like vibranium to absorb the impact of the punch itself which iswhat happened...
