I'm saying how long does it take for Wolverine to bring his hand up to his face and make the necessary incisions to remove the webbing, assuming that all points of the webbing that make contact have equal adherence to his surface? Now do you think that in the time that Wolverine is doing so Spiderman could shoot more web at his hand thus adhering them to his face partially if not completely. How about a consecutive streams of web from both hands?
He doesn't need to completely remove the webbing, it's not like it poisons or burns him or anything. . .

I'm actually not entirely sure about the first part. Drowning isn't to do with an inability to inhale and exhale, like for example pneumothorax. The lungs are filled with water. I'd assume that the pressure would concentrate osmolytes in the water. You're probably more likely of dying from nitrogen coming out of solution if you're at great depths anyway.
BTW don't take the above as absolute... it's more conjecture, it's been a while since I've done any respiratory system stuff... and I didn't pay all that much attention when I did.
