I see this being a great fight, but nonetheless i would choose spiderman for the win about 60% of the time.
The aspect many people seem to disreguard about this face-off is the power both combatants pack. Although spiderman is comfortably stronger than wolverine, wolverine's strength is nothing to laugh about, and his adamantium makes his punches hurt spiderman as well, but I think spiderman's bare punches will inflict significantly more damage than wolverine's. The thing that evens out the striking of both fighters is wolverine's claws, meaning it doesn't really matter if spiderman's got superhuman strength and durability, because he can't take too many full-on stabs from wolverine. It is wise to note, however, that spiderman is not one to give in to pain and vicious wounds easily, and he has quite the healing factor of his own, though it works best while he's sleeping. Over the years he's healed a broken arm in under a day, vicious battles with morlun in a few days, and a full on stab from wolverine himself in a day.
As per the two vying in speed, agility, and reflexes, I think this is the category that really wins the fight for spiderman. Yes, wolverine is very fast, and has some feats where he moves so fast the human eye can't trace him; he also has the ability to dodge a degree of bullets rapid-fire. However, though wolverine has been known for such feats, spiderman has been labeled- quite correctly- as the most agile, acrobatic character in comic books, and his instintaneous reflexes operate at more than 40 times the speed of a normal human. He is approximately 15 times faster than a normal person, and his spider-sense, as well as new upgraded 360 degree sensory awareness that allow him to pinpoint the coming threat make hims nearly impossible to hit. Wolverine can do it, but spiderman will get more punches in for sure.
Finally, the category most wolverine supporters bring up is the two vying in fighting skill. Wolverine is a much better fighter than spiderman, there's no doubt about it. If we stripped both combatants of their powers, peter would be utterly demolished (although that would also mean wolverine would have to die instantly since he wouldn't have been able to live as long as he has and learned all of the skills he has). However, though this may be true, I don't pay as much attention to it as most seem to. Spidey has invented his own unique fighting style efficiently utilizing his wide array of powers, allowing him to go toe to toe with virtually any bad-ass- up to Hulk level and even a bit beyond- that writers can think up. Over the years he has single- handedly defeated the fantastic four, the x men, the incredible hulk, and the avengers.
The final match-up that makes this the closest part of the debate is wolverine's healing factor. Without it, I don't think he'd last very long against someone like Spiderman, however, that defeats the purpose of the debate, as it would be stripping his most basic power from him. With the healing factor, spiderman is going to have a long battle on his hand, and, though he is able to fight for days on end- as with the vicious battle with Morlun, my favorite spidey battle- wolverine can top that no problem, virtually able to fight for an eternity without tiring. It is pointed to quite potently by Marvel, however, that wolverine is not invincible, and he can be killed by repeated baragges of high levels of damage. If wolverine is written the way he should be, I think spiderman can work out a way, especially utilizing his resources, such as a city as a playground, to defeat wolverine's healing factor, but some writers, like Ghugenheimer (i believe) insist on playing wolverine out as being literally immortal, as with the new Civil War series. I guess we have to take a happy medium, that wolverine can indeed be killed, but it is very difficult- an annoying- to do so, and not to mention that he will most likely be trying to kill you at the same time.
At this point I'd have the two fighters about even, a pure 50/50 bout. What puts me over the edge of the fence to Spiderman's side, is the unfrequent visit of the stress factor he is- or should be- infamously known for. In times of extreme stress, emotional trauma, and physical duresse, spiderman has been seen accomplishing feats of strength and endurance that put him almost up to levels paralelling Ben Grimm. He has been seen catching a military grade apache helicopter in complete free-fall over the city streets, a feat even he was dumbfounded that he accomplished. He has taken full on hits from hulk, has been seen lfiting tons upon tons of debris to free himself, and has also lifted a great portion of a train station off of his back, as well as pulled missles off course with nothing but strength, and has even survived a close-range detonation of a warhead.
Conclusion:
1) If we're talking about a fight to KO, then I think spiderman can take it without the stress factor, winning 60-65% of the time.
2) If this is a strict battle to the death, no matter how valiantly he fights, spiderman would eventually tire and be overcome before wolverine unless he fled the scene of battle to recover, which is a viable option. However, I can still see spiderman killing wolverine if he pulls out the full potential, which has yet to be reached, of his unexplored powers. This fight to the end I'll give to spiderman by an almost invisible margin.
KO= Spiderman 60-65%
Death= Spiderman 50-52%

yeah but peak humans are faster than normal humans as well.. and spiderman's already admitted his spider sense is an equalizer for dealing with very skilled fighters like iron fist.. which he just proved in his fight with cap... it helps but it doesn't make him untouchable to high tier street levels and while he'll most definitely land more punches.. he lacks the power to really do wolvie harm while wolvie only needs to hit him well........once...

Originally posted by Jade Lightningi agree completely.. i simply don't think that spiderman's strength will afford him a victory over wolverine so he'd have to revert to something else.
