My sister and her guy got this puppy. She spends most days boxed in, and the rest on a leash. She's a lab, so she has a lot of energy.
I offer to watch her, so she can get some damned attention, and they come up with excuses. And then they threaten to slap the pup if she doesn't quiet down.
I mean, here they have a relation willing to help out, and they refuses, and why? Because it's their dog, that's why. No other reason, she's theirs, hands off
So the poor animal is stuck inside, with two assholes doing their level best to ignore her.

I wonder if this counts as animal cruelty? The dogs needs are not really being met. Threatening to hit the animal is also wrong, there is no excuse to hit a dog unless they are trying to attack you or someone else.
You can tell a lot about a person by how they treat their pets.
