It's strange how there are so many people online that support R/H. In real life, it's a different - I have yet to find a R/H shipper.
I've asked about fifty; the conversation usually goes as follows.

Other: Ron and Hermione? What, are you f---ing kidding me?
At this point, I reassure them that I am indeed a H/He shipper.

pumpkin made a good point about Hermione's behaviour relating the to subject of Cho. There's one point I missed. Actually, two.
1.)Notice how Ron's affection for Hermione seems to slack off after Christmas in OotP? He doesn't really argue with her anymore, but neither making any moves toward her. Which shows that he is not caring to "hide his feelings", if this is the case; nor is he trying to show actual loving affection for her.
2.)On the subject of Cho and Harry, look at her reactions; as KK said, she seemed torn between happiness for Harry and moumental disappointment. And remember her reaction toward Harry and Ron's Christmas presents to her?
To Harry: "Thanks Harry! I've been wanting (textbook title) for ages!"
To Ron:"And that perfume's really unusual, Ron."
This is either:
a.) Harry made a really damned lucky guess.
b.) Harry has been stalking Hermione and knows what she exactly wants, even though she has said absolutely nothing about wanting it. Maybe he likes her.
c.) Hermione likes Harry more than Ron and wanted to show her enthusiasm toward his present.
I say C.

well although i hate r/hr i know there are lots of ppl here that adore the couple.... BUT IT AINT ME! ahem anyway if you look in the begining of this then you will dee all the ron and hermione supporters personaly hermione and harry have it made because hermione cares about him alot more than cho, and ginny put together plus during the 5th book hermione appreciates harrys gift more than rons perfume hermione knoe how to deal with eachother during the roughest of times and lets face it ron only has a crush on hermione just like ginnys little crush on harry which im sure wont even last long he'll probably go out with lavender or luna or something just no hermione it makes no sense to be but i wont bash you if you choose hermione and ron than so be it i cant change you... ta-ta

also in fans of JKR asked her who would end up with hermy....well she told then that havent they figured it out its in GoF!!

OK, all through book two Ginny has shown signs and even said, or at least Riddle told Harry she said, that she liked Harry. But Harry never went anywhere with it until near the end of the book.
He couldn't not go, not now they had found the entrance to the Chamber, not if there was even the faintest, slimmest, chance that Ginny is still alive.
That is page 301 CoS. It seems it is at this time Harry has figured out that he liked Ginny, because afterwards there were always signs of it. JKR did say that there would be major plot hints from CoS, and I don't think that it meant only the plot. JKR did start writing the book under the name HBP, until she realized the storyline didn't flow with the title and was leaking to much information. And Ginny and Harry could have talked afterwards and said something like "Lets wait till we are older" or something like that. And in future books when Ginny said she was over Harry it could be a lie just to throw everyone off a bit, likewise with Harry going for Cho. That could have just been all a act, knowing nothing would happen with Cho and him. But that is just me. No one has to agree.

That's your OPINION. Doesn't mean it's true. Plus it must be the area you live in, because there are a lot more Ron and Hermione shippers in my area. Either that, or you just ignore the R/Hr shippers.

They could've easily meant Harry and Cho, Hermione and Viktor, and Ron having a crush on Fleur. JK Rowling also said that there is something going on between Ron and Hermione, but neither of them know it, yet.

Even so, I doubt that Ron would have chosen her a crappy brand, he likes her and obviously knows what she likes.
Assuming she likes Ron than Harry, she would have said something nice about it, other than what she told him. Whether she "hides her feelings" or not. After all, it's CHRISTMAS, the time of happiness, sharing, etc.. Even then, she wouldn't have said, "And that book's really unusual, Harry."
If anyone's hiding their feelings at this time, it's Ron. He says "No problem." simply. There are two possibilities:
A.) He doesn't really care otherwise, which in this case the perfume was generally shitty.
B.) He's nearly heartbroken in the inside, but remains cool on the surface.
