Right in front of him doesn't really mean Hermione, i think. It could still be a tie between Ginny and Hermione. Right in front of him, I don't think, is the person that hangs out with him most. But just my idea.

Yeah, after all, Ginny was with them as well. And I don't think Harry panicking about thinking Hermione's dead counts as a H/Hr clue, Because if I'm not mistaken, Harry was worried that ginny was dead when he found her lying in the Chamber of Secrets. And I don't ever remember Ron ever slacking off after Christmas. And if he did, it was probably because after his father got bitten by that snake, Ron started to worry about it and whether it would happen to someone else. so he had no time to worry about that at the moment.

Some of my favorite Harry/Ginny shipping moments from OOTP.

1-He caught a brief glimpse of a gloomy high-ceilinged, twin-bedded room, then there was a loud, twittering noise, followed by an even louder shriek, and his vision was completely obscured by a large quantity of very red hair-Ginny had thrown herself onto him in a hug that nearly knocked him flat, while Ron's tiny owl, Pigwidgeon, zoomed excitedly round and round their heads.

2-Only the house-elf's attitude of creeping servility looked convincing. With a grin at the thought of what Ginny would say if she could see the statue of the elf, Harry turned his money bag upside down and emptied not just ten Galleons, but the whole contents into the pool at the statue's feet.

3-The door banged open. Ginny came tearing into the room, her cheeks flushed and her hair flying. There was an envelope in her hand.

"Did you-did you get-?"

She spotted the badge in Harry's hand and let out a shriek.

"I knew it!" she said excitedly, brandishing her letter. "Me too, Harry, me too!"

"No," said Harry quickly, pushing the badge back into Ron's hand. "It's Ron, not me."

"It-what?"

"Ron's prefect, not me," Harry said.

"Ron," said Ginny, her jaw dropping. "But...are you sure? I mean-"

She turned red as Ron looked around at her with a defiant expression on his face.

"It's my name on the letter," he said.

"I..." said Ginny, looking thoroughly bewildered. "I...well...wow! Well done, Ron! That's really-"

4-He dashed from the room, leaving Harry and Ginny alone. For some reason, Harry found that he did not want to look at Ginny.

5-And as he thought this, the scar on his forehead burned so badly that he clapped his hand to it.

"What's up?" said Ginny, looking alarmed.

"Scar," Harry mumbled. "But it's nothing...It happens all the time now...."

None of the others had noticed a thing... (emphasis mine)

6-"...Listen, you can help me if you like, it's quite fun, I'm getting better, I can do patterns and bobbles and all sorts of things now."

Harry looked into her (Ginny's) face, which was shining with glee, and tried to look as though he was vaguely tempted by this offer.

"Er...no, I don't think I will, thanks," he said. "Er-not tomorrow. I've got loads of homework to do...."

And he traipsed to the boys' stairs, leaving her looking slightly disappointed behind him.

7-He imagined trying to conceal from Ginny that he had received T's in all his O.W.L.s and immediately resolved to work harder from now on.

8-"Harry," she (Ginny) said timidly, "don't you see? This...this is exactly why we need you....We need to know what it's r-really like...facing him...facing V-Voldemort."

It was the first time she had ever said Voldemort's name, and it was this, more than anything else, that calmed Harry.

9-...he was halfway out of his seat, intending to hurry upstairs for his Invisibility Cloak when, not for the first time, a voice very much like Ginny's whispered in his ear: reckless.

10-...Harry looked sideways at Ginny. "You know what these remind me of?"

"No, what's that?"

"The Death Eater's scars. Voldemort touches one of them, and all their scars burn, and they know they've got to join him."

"Well...yes," said Ginny quietly. "That is where I got the idea...but you'll notice I decided to engrave the date on bits of metal rather than on our members' skin...."

"Yeah...I prefer your way," said Harry, grinning, as he slipped his Galleon into his pocket...

11-"Is it Cho?" she (Ginny) asked in a businesslike way. "Did she corner you after the meeting?"

Numbly surprised, Harry nodded. Ron sniggered, breaking off when Hermione caught his eye.

...

"Did you kiss?" asked Ginny briskly.

...

Harry looked from Ron's expression of mingled curiosity and hilarity to Ginny's slight frown, and nodded.

"HA!"

...

Ginny gave Ron a look of deep disgust and returned to her letter.

12-"And it might have been a good idea to mention how ugly you think I am too," Ginny added as an afterthought.

"But I don't think you're ugly," said Harry, bemused.

Ginny laughed.

13-Then, quite abruptly, she said "but you shouldn't have seen this at all, Harry."

"What?" he said, taken aback.

"You're supposed to be learning how to close your mind to this sort of thing," said Ginny, suddenly stern.

"I know I am," said Harry. "But-"

"Well, I think we should just try and forget what you saw," said Ginny firmly. "And you ought to put in a bit more effort on your Occlumency from now on."

Harry was so angry with her that he did not talk to her for the rest of the day, which proved to be another bad one.

14-"Haven't we got a counter jinx for this?" Fudge asked Umbridge, impatiently, gesturing at Marietta's face. "So she can speak freely?"

"I have not managed to find one," Umbridge admitted grudgingly, and Harry felt a surge of pride in Ginny's jinxing ability.

15-"That was a really horrible trick of Ginny Weasley's," said Cho fiercely. "She should have told us she'd jinxed that list-"

"I think it was a brilliant idea," said Harry coldly. Cho flushed and her eyes grew brighter.

"Oh yes, I forgot-of course, if it was darling Ginny's idea-"

16-He also suspected that part of his mind-the part that often spoke in Ginny's voice-now felt guilty on the occasions it strayed down that corridor ending in the black door, and sought to wake him before he could reach journey's end.

17-Harry agreed to test Ginny after lunch on Sunday but regretted it almost at once. She was very agitated and kept snatching the book back from him to check that she had gotten the answer completely right, finally hitting him hard on the nose with the sharp edge of Achievements in Charming.

"Why don't you just do it yourself?" he said firmly, handing the book back to her, his eyes watering."

18-Even through his anger and impatience Harry recognized Ginny's offer to accompany him into Umbridge's office as a sign of solidarity and loyalty.

19-"What do you mean, 'in there'?" demanded Ginny, jumping down from the bottom step and sounding much angrier than the occasion warranted. "There isn't any 'in there,' it's just an archway, there's no room for anybody to be there-Harry, stop it, come away-"

She grabbed his arm and pulled, but he resisted.

"Harry we are supposed to be here for Sirius!" she said in a high-pitched, strained voice.

20-"RUN!" Harry yelled. ...he seized a handful of Ginny's robes and dragged her forward...

21-...a hand caught him by the shoulder; he heard Ginny shout "Stupefy!" and the hand released him at once.

22-"Well done, Ha-"

But the Death Eater Ginny had just struck dumb made a sudden slashing movement with his wand from which flew a streak of what looked like purple flame. It passed right across Ginny's chest; she gave a tiny "oh!" as though of surprise and then crumpled onto the floor where she lay motionless.

"GINNY!"

Harry fell to his knees beside her as Neville crawled rapidly toward her from under the desk...

A whine of panic inside his head was preventing him thinking properly. He had one hand on Ginny's shoulder, which was still warm, yet did not dare look at her properly. Don't let her be dead, don't let her be dead, it's my fault if she's dead....

"Ginny," Harry said at once, shaking her as the baby-headed Death Eater blundered out of sight again. "Ginny, wake up...."

...

Neville groped for Ginny's wrist.

"Dat's a pulse, Harry, I'b sure id is...."

Such a powerful wave of relief swept through Harry that for a moment he felt light-headed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, can you not see why Harry and Ginny are perfect for one another? And those aren't all the moments in the Order of the Phoenix that show support for the Harry/Ginny ship! There are even MORE! Oh, wait, hang on...JK Rowling is calling. I'll have to answer...Just a second.

"Yes, Jo?"

"I'm afraid you made a mistake in this essay, ."

"A mistake? How?"

"None of those things happened between Harry and Ginny. Those are all things that happenened between Harry and Hermione."

"Oh my God! <smacks self on the forehead> Thank you for correcting me. I see your point. So sorry. Let me go back and put things right by replacing Ginny with Hermione."

whoosh
🙄

hi guys been out for ages , I found this quote from one of the editor of the hp books here what he's got 2 say for HBP

Arthur Levine said this about HBP:

QUOTE

"[Fans] will like the fact that they are finally getting a lot of answers ... You have moments when you say, 'Wow, Harry is really growing up,' which is not something you would have said three books ago. ... Gosh, Hermione? You know, 'You go girl.'"

Im feeling he's saying "Wow Harry you have FINALLY realized something you would have said three books ago..... Gosh Hermione you're the one You go girl."

AND THATS WHY IM REALLY FEELING SOMETHING HERE FOR HBP AND HHR 💃 🙂

GO GIRL! 💃

****Moments of Relief

I forget what Harry was like when he found out Ginny was going to be ok, but it certainly didn't make him feel lightheaded.

Don't be so sure. 🙄

Shipping is barely an issue in Harry Potter, and it certainly isn't Jo's focal point. The actualy story and friendship appear to be her priorities. I think people are way too preoccupied with this miniscule aspect of the series.

^ well kinda read this essay

How Romance Ties into the Main Plot

This essay deals with the issue of romance in the Harry Potter books. Is it really just a subplot, or does it tie in
with the main plot big time? That is what I’m going to explore here. Be happy, this should be short!
It has at times been said that it does not matter who ends up with whom because the romance in Harry Potter
is unimportant to the main plot of the book. I respectfully disagree. Love has always been a major part of the
Harry potter books. Right from the first book, we learn that it was the love of Harry's mother that made
Voldemort unable to kill him. Okay. Peachy, that's motherly love. How does this factor into romance? Well, I’m
getting there.
Book 5, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix changed that conception. It is all told in two small parts near
the end of the book.
When Harry is trying doors in the circular room at the Department of Mysteries (DoM), he comes across a
locked door. He cannot open it. Ron tries to help, but it still does not open. Hermione takes a shot at opening
the door, still nothing. Harry tries using the knife Sirius gave him. That's right - it doesn't work, the blade
melted actually. I will discuss this more a bit lower down. However, notice that they could not open the door as
they are. Also note that while Ron helped, Harry and Hermione are the ones who actually try to open the door
alone.
Later on, back at the school, Harry is speaking to Dumbledore. Dumbledore tells Harry that there is a door that
is kept locked at all times. These are his words:

"It contains a force that is at once more wonderful and more terrible than death, than human intelligence, than forces of nature. It is also, perhaps, the most mysterious of the many subjects for study that reside there. It is the power held within that room that you possess in such quantities and which Voldemort has not at all. That power took you to save Sirius tonight. That power also saved you from possession by Voldemort, because he could not bear to reside in a body so full of the force he detests. In the end it mattered not that you could not
close your mind. It was your heart that saved you."

So in short, the room contains a power that can destroy Voldemort. It contains the Ministry's secret weapon.
Any guesses what it is? The power of love. However, why couldn't Harry open it? Why is it that Harry could not
access the powers held within this room? He already has all the other kinds of love. He has universal love for
people. He has family love from the Weasley’s and Sirius. He has friendly love from his friends. The one kind of
love that Harry lacks at the moment is romantic love. I believe that Harry must be in love to open this door.
Additionally, the lucky girl will probably have to be present. Harry and Hermione tried to open the door alone
but failed. Will they need to open it together?
So this makes one wonder. We have already had an example of a room that could only be accessed when one
most desperately needs it, and that is the Room of Requirement. I really do think this room at the DoM is
similar in that you need to be in love to access it. Now, why Harry and Hermione? Why not Ron and Hermione?
Why not Harry and Ginny? I'll answer that. Ron is not the main character in these books. The story isn't about
Ron. For what believable reason would Ron be the one to open the door? Harry and Ginny? Why Ginny? Ginny
is not the female character that has been placed time and time again with Harry to share in his adventures for
all the books so far I mean, even in COS, Hermione was of huge help despite being unconscious with the note
she left behind. Why would Ginny pop out of the sidelines to be the one? Not to mention it was Harry and
Hermione who were shown trying to open the door alone to no avail. Ginny opening it just doesn't flow right at
all.
There is only one girl who Harry can truly be in love with at the end of the story, fully. Not just a crush that he's
now dating, but I mean really in love with the girl. This can only realistically be pulled off with Hermione. It also
answers the question of why Hermione's role has been getting bigger as each book goes by. She is part of the
finale. She is a vital part of how to defeat Voldemort. This is how romance ties into the main plot in a very
major way.

hermionedont listen to sun when we prove em wrong we'll be the one laughing so sun we'll who gets the last laught see isnt this picture perfect.....sigh its so beautiful..kewlpics

brilliant evidence brilliant evidence!!!!!! you know what im going to pm you....

Lol, still don't think the lesson being taught is one of relationship dating. It's more to do with life choice, standing up against the odds and dealing with all the problems of life. To diminish the standing of Harry Potter to simply shipping degrades the ability of JK as a writer and the septology as a whole. Can't wait 'til I'm proven correct though.

1.)As you can see, it is to us. As readers, we are excited by the prospect of a romance between the trio.

1.)There are other lessons in the series, but they blare out at us, shadowing the lesser. Especially with Hermione saying "There are more important things, Harry. Such as friendship and bravery...." Blah....hug....etc.

The main reason why lessons of romance are not obvious in the series so far is that because they have not really happened yet... Harry will realise there is more to girls than just good-looks. Screw Cho.

Krum is older than Harry, and he has realised this already. Which is why he chose Hermione in the first place. For her intellect, even if she doesn't have first-class looks.

Not me? 😐

Well surely, as readers, you are not experiencing the true purposes of Harry Potter, if you are simply being extroadinarily shallow and looking to see who hooks up with who? If you want that go and watch some of those inane American soap/drama things.

MOD NOTE:
Keep the individual out of the conversation. Keep to the topic. By calling someone "extraordinary shallow" you are encouraging a fight. Just don't talk about the person in your post.

Anyways, love the evidence about Harry and Hermione! I'm excited to see whose going to end up with who also because it just a hot topic with HP fans. It'll be great to finally see what's going to happen. And that picture of them is awesome!

Sure, I yield that point, t'was perhaps a tad personal.

Hermione7, welcome back! Very happy to have you back posting amazing essay's as usual! 😄 I loved that essay. I think love is a major theme of the books, and hermione truly is the only one who harry can truly be in love with. If I've said it once I've said it a million times: Hermione has been set up as the lead female, the most important girl in harry's life. Why would JKR change that after writing 5 books of that formula? It won't change, hermione will always be "the girl". That essay took everything ive ever thought about the whole "romance" thing in harry potter and explained it very well.

Hermione7 was it really necessary to do the Ginny thing? Couldn't you just kept Hermione's name in it? It woulda saved a bit of time, and it sounds kinda bigheaded.

I didnt mind it, i thought it was kinda funny. My guess is the harry/hermione shippers all found it funny and the harry/ginny (and consequently ron/hermione) people found it annoying. Whatever, it's all good in the hood 😎

I just find it kind of a waste of time to put Ginny when it is Hermione. But heck, can't do nothin' to change that.
