UUggg... I'm not going to post this quote again, but JKR said that harry will open his eyes after the department of mysteries and realize what he was looking for was right in front of him the whole time. lets see... who could that be..hm... 🤨 Oh! Hermione! Imagine that! And I agree that GOF is not a good guide to relationships, seeing as JKR said everyone likes the wrong people in GOF (harry likes cho, hermione likes victor, ron likes hermione. I think his weird hermione thing in here overrides the flur thing).

I thought Ron liked Fleur... or was it Fluer.... or whatever the name is...

That was lust, as Harry's relationship was with Cho. Not love.

Actually, JKR said that GOF was the best place to look for these things.

JKR said that GoF was "decieving" on the subject to do with relationships, apparently.

It was in the 2004 (something something) Book Festival.

At the 2004 Edinburgh Book Festival JKR did a question and answer period with fans. She never said anything about GoF being deceiving, but one fan asked whether Ron and Hermione would 'get together'. JKR said; 'Well, what do you think?' A fan replied, 'I think they will.' JKR laughed and said; 'I thought you would have figured this out ages ago... I can't say anything, can I? You just have to read between the lines.'

well what about those who think hermione and harry are supposed to be that applies to both and all shipps including harry and hermione it could be almost any ship thats not really any proof because i heard that too but thats totally beside the point also thats been our motto since forever so that means nothing us pumpkin pie shippers have been following this for years..........................

I am starting to think who Harry ends up with. I am starting to think that he wont live past book 7.

who are you starting to think he ends up with?

Gah. My typos have gone wild. I mean, I'm starting to think he wont end up with anyone.... How did it turn out to be "I am starting to think who Harry ends up with."?

And has anyone seen the H/Hr comebacks thread. KKdave, if you go back in, can you post for me that that is kind of harsh on what Pumpkinpie says. And that we believe what we want to believe in. Thanks. It keeps logging me out everytime I enter the thread again. THanks KKdave. She really is a bit harsh, if you think about it KKdave.

As for Ron/Hermione. There have been signs between them for the longest if times. I think since book two. Why the never did anything I have no clue. It could be JKR doesn't want to have them start relationships early or something else. But I do know they go good together.

H/G
R/Hr

I agree with that. And I think JK Rowling wants us to anticipate this stuff.

They said in book six, not in the department of mysteries. so it could be anybody. and it could mean anything, too. And Ron doesn't realize he likes hermione, so you can't consider him falling in love yet. Everyone knew he had a crush on fleur. And I think that's what JK Rowling meant.

yes but she was referring to harry so im gonna have to agree with dave i forgot what exactly the question was but it was something about harry. if i have it wrong its because i got it from another site

I seem to see a "EVERYONE IS IN LOVE WITH THE WRONG PEOPLE.[GoF]" in there. So that means Ron can't go with Hermione, Harry can't go with Cho, Hermione can't go with Krum.

Let's see.

Now, the subject is clearly defined as romance.

There will be a subtle shift on Harry's part as he opens his eyes after what happened in the last book in the Department of Mysteries. He might begin to see what was there for a while now....

..."I've laid my clues. It's all in the books."

1.) Hermione nearly gets killed. And you never realise how much someone means to you until they're gone. In the brief moment where he assumes the worst, look at his reaction. And look at his reaction after he finds out she's alive.

2.)For a while now? Well, we can rule Cho out. Which leaves Hermione and Ginny. "Sometimes all you've been looking for is right in front of you."

In this case, Hermione; she's more close to Harry and therefore would be considered "in front of him".

3.) "Let's just say that it might suprise a few people and might make total sense to others."

Umm... I think she meant Ron crush of Fleur, not Ron with Hermione...

Thank you, NightCrawler. Nobody seems to get the point that she could have easily meant Ron having a crush on fleur, because Ron doesn't know he has those feelings for Hermione, yet. And if you look at Harry, he KNEW he liked cho. and Hermione probably knew she liked Viktor. and as JK Rowling stated in an interview, that I had to at least quote several times, that there's something going on between Ron and Hermione, but Ron doesn't KNOW it, yet.

Yeah, that's pretty much a little schoolboy crush - he didn't have any real feelings for Fleur. But I'll play along.
Yes, it probably did mean that Ron was not meant to love Fluer and was meant to love Hermione instead.

Which he did. And realised it. However, you will find that his behaviour relating to any signs of relationship between him and Hermione seems to slack off after Christmas in their fifth year.

You two choose to say nothing about the last part, which pretty much blares out the fact that Harry will at one point start liking Hermione.
So here's the situation as of the end of book 5.

1.)Ron likes Hermione(but slack off after christmas? he either gives up or is really good at hiding his feelings)

2.)Hermione likes Harry.

3.)Harry doesn't really give a damn, due to his godfather's death.
But "Sometimes all you've been looking is right in front of you."
Which suggests that there is a high chance of him liking Hermione.
