This one was sent in by Centra_gal86. James was a pureblood. Lily was a muggle-born. Harry, though a half-blood, was born to wizard parents, in essence, making him a pureblood. Hermione is a muggle-born, just like Lily. (get the picture?)
This one was sent in by Stephanie. Lily has a sister, who we all know to be Petunia Dursley. Petunia was very jealous of her sister's acceptance into the wizarding world as well as the attention their parents lavished upon her. Just recently, JK has announced her plans of getting a sister for Hermione. Being that this sister was never in any scenes with the Grangers and or Hermione, it is only logical that we assume this sister falls under the same category as Petunia: a jealous sister. If she's not under that category, Hermione still has a sister, still making history repeat itself. However, JK also said it might be a little too late to put in Hermione's supposed sister. Then again, she did make an effort in wanting a sister for Hermione. Guess she thought we have enough clues by now *wink*
James & Lily were both members of the Order of the Phoenix so it is safe to assume that they were both Aurors. In GOF, the fake Mad-Eye Moody commented that Harry & Hermione had the makings of true Aurors (Ron tried to say something smart so Moody would say that he also had the makings of an auror but Moody didn't say anything like that). In OOTP, we learn that Harry wants to be an Auror. No mention has yet been made of Hermione's planned profession. There's a possibility that she would be going for Aurorship, being that the hardest subjects are the ones she enjoys the most. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
This one was sent in by Remy. We all know that Harry's wand is eleven inches, holly with Phoenix feather core enchantment. I was going through your site and I went to the biographies page and I noticed and was reminded of the fact that Hermione's wand type was never mentioned to the readers. I found this sort of odd considering we know Ron's already and a few others as well (ex. Cedric Diggory, whose wand had a unicorn hair core enchantment). After just coming off of reading your theory, this oddity led me to one swift, yet very possible, conclusion as to why this happened. That conclusion would be that Hermione's wand is possibly of the same make and type as Lily's wand. If I remember correctly, Lily's wand was particularly good for charms. Now I know this is a stretch, and isn't confirmed in the least, but it makes sense if you look back all the way to the Sorceror's Stone. We see early on with "Winguardiam Leviosa"(sp) that Hermione was able to do charms quite easily. This is later shown in Goblet of Fire as well I believe when she is showing Harry the "Accio" charm and later shows him the Banishing spell in the same book (or possibly Order of the Phoenix) with relative ease. I think the same is true when Hermione learns the Switching spell. In OOTP, Hermione also put the "Protean" charm on the fake Galleons which was N.E.W.T. level. Of course this could all just be Hermione's amazing intellect picking up on things but who is to say she doesn't have a little help in this particular field as well? Some wands are just better suited to do certain things than others. Now this is just pure speculation, and I'm not sure if JKR has ever mentioned whether Hermione's wand type is even important, but its a pretty interesting possibility, considering JKR has kept that information hidden from us (which could definitely mean she is hiding something important) and if what I have said above is true, it would add one more coincidence in the comparison of Lily to Hermione. I hope you can understand my ramblings and maybe see what I am getting at. 🙂 I've heard this sort of a theory as a Harry and Ginny argument as well but the evidence you showed made me think it shows even more promise as a Harry and Hermione argument rather than a Harry and Ginny argument. 🙂 Thanks for the input, Remy!

Here's another detail I just recently noticed after watching PoA again, as well as reading a few snippets off the book (on the net. I don't have HP books of my own. I can't afford them). Well...when Lupin described Lily to Harry, he did it with such wistfulness and passion that it got me to thinking that at some point during his Hogwarts days, he might've been in love with Lily. I'm not trying to make enemies here, but try watching the movie again. Here. I've quoted what Lupin said from the movie: "The very first time I saw you, Harry, I recognized you immediately. Not by your scar; by your eyes. They're your mother, Lily's. Yes...oh, yes. I knew her. Your mother was there for me at a time when no one else was. Not only was she a singularly gifted witch, she was also an uncommonly kind woman. She had a way of seeing the beauty of others most especially when that person could not see it himself." Of all of James features which are clearly shown on Harry's face, Lupin had to recognize Harry immediately by his green eyes...Lily's eyes. So where am I exactly getting at after mentioning Lupin's possible past liking for Lily? Lupin, as we all know, is one of James's best friends. If it's possible that he had once been in love with Lily, then this is where we see a repeat in history to Harry's best friend, Ron. But of course, it was James and Lily who ended up together and hopefully, that will be true for Harry and Hermione as well.
People who don't support H/Hr may scoff at the above theories, labeling these as freakish coincidences but there's something that holds all of the above statements together: the time travel devices. Remember that the title of this theory is History Repeats Itself. So far, only two people in the HP book series have been seen traveling back through time both together and separately, thereby, repeating history: Harry & Hermione of course!!!
Hermione used the Time Turner to travel back in time and attend all of her classes. In the end of PoA, both she and Harry get to use the Time Turner to travel back in time and save Sirius.
Another significance of the Time Turner, is the fact that Hermione had to put the necklace around Harry's neck as well as her own in order for them to travel back in time together. What does that remind me of? Weddings! Why? Remember that part of the ceremony is to put a chord around the necks of the bride and groom and it symbolizes the bond between the newlyweds. Plus, it symbolizes eternity because it goes round and round over and over again. Get my drift? Time and eternity?
Harry was sucked into Tom Riddle's diary, in turn, making him travel back 50 years into the past. He's also been inside the pensieve twice. The pensieve contained memories of the past and in essence, also made Harry travel back in time.
The Fountain of Magical Brethren Theory By: Gwendy
In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, we have our first time view of the Ministry of Magic. In it, there was the Fountain of Magical Brethren, a huge collection of golden statues and I quote:
"Halfway down the hall was a fountain. A group of golden statues, larger than life-size, stood in the middle of a circular pool. Tallest of them all was a noble-looking wizard with his wand pointing straight up in the air. Grouped around him were a beautiful witch, a centaur, a goblin and a house-elf. The last three were all looking adoringly up at the witch and wizard."
In the end, due to Dumbledore's doing, the statues came to life and aided in protecting Harry as well as defeating some Death Eaters. The statues of the handsome witch and the beautiful wizard, I believe, can represent Harry & Hermione. Harry, because the statue of the wizard came to protect him. The beautiful witch could and can be associated with any other witch other than Hermione but I believe it leans strongly towards her. Why? Remember that grouped with the witch and wizard were a centaur, a house-elf and a goblin. The couple associated with these magical creatures are Harry & Hermione.
In Sorcerer's Stone, Harry rode on Firenze and met with the other centaurs. In the fifth book, Harry & Hermione met with the centaurs (who unwittingly saved their lives and later, endangered them) in the Dark Forest. In Chamber of Secrets, Harry's life was saved (or put in danger) by Dobby, the house elf, who in the end, helped Harry a great deal. Hermione is very determined in caring for the plight of these "poorly treated" creatures, trying in vain to free all of them. She even went as far as making a mini-club of her own, the S.P.E.W. (Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare). As for goblins, Harry has been in Gringgots bank were he was surrounded by goblins. And if I remember correctly, Hermione is particularly good with charms and their charms teacher, Professor Flitwick, is I think....a goblin. If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me and send me some detail on how Hermione is associated with the goblins. Or perhaps, she is yet to be associated with them. And here's another quote:
