Do any of you have any idea what about Aunt Petunia we don't know??

Oh, and, if you've read the interview, what did you make of what JK said about Sirius??

I was thinking that maybe the reason Voldemort didn't die when he tried to kill Harry was that, when the spell hit Harry,(before it rebounded), a little was absorbed by Harry. I mean, he did get Voldy's Parsletongue talent, and I was thinking that maybe a little of the spell wore off before it hit Voldy. Or maybe the spell rebounding off of Harry was like Harry cursing him. Harry, being a baby, and full of love, would not have had the strength to kill anyone. But it weakened Voldy, since it was his spell originally. These are just thoughts that randomly come to me as I search the web for more info!! They are most likely 100% wrong, but I thought I'd throw them out and see what you all thought.

Is anybody there??? Or am I just talking to myself here??

hey everyone. still new and my first post on this thread. i tried to read everything that was said but it was just too much and stopped at page 14. you guys have some great ideas! one of them i liked specifically.
way in the beginning someone suggested that by trying to kill harry, voldemort gave harry some of his strength - accidently of course. i think it makes perfect sense. according to jkr's site we ought to be trying to figure out why voldemort didn't die. i thought all the time it was clear because it says in the books he took certain precautions and i figured it was spells, potions and what not. but it sounds like there's more to it cause she said she can't believe noone's asked why voldemort didn't die

also don't know if you've settled on who's prophecy it is. i have to say it is defenitly harry's because at the end of book 5 harry also said it could be neville's and dumbledore made it clear that it is not. and another important factor. if it wasn't harry's prophecy he wouldn't have been able to take it off the shelve in the departement of mysteries

hey, welcome. Did you read anything beyond the 14th page?? Cuz there is a LOT of good stuff in this thread. You should read it all. I know it takes a long time, But I did it before (of course, it wasnt as long then!!) and it helps to get in the swing of things better. Besides, it's very interesting.

and one more thing that's bugging me. also something someone mentioned in the beginning and it never got discussed:
harry feels voldemorts anger, he feels when he's punishing someone and it hurts A LOT! it was even worse when voldemort posessed him for that short time in the ministry of magic. so it would definitly have to be even worse than that when voldemort dies. when voldemort dies it seems to me that there is a possibility that harry will too because of their connection.but according to the prophecy only one of them has to die. i would love any input on this, agree or disagree. maybe the pain is just gonna be bad enough to make harry pass out.
