One of the hover gunships has landed and is now being used as a makeshift transport for Derin and the others; but Verlaine stays outside to watch what happens with you.

The big alien makes a couple of quick, almost experimental blows at you. He may only look like muscle with a big sword, but he knows how to handle his blade, even such a big one.

You wouldn't like to block a full swing from that thing; you would most likely break your arm. But these smaller blows you easily deflect aside; but he rerally doesn't seem to be trying, he is just keeping you away.

The noise grows louder, and you can see a silhouette approaching from the sky behind...

"What the living Force are you doing there?" Yerssot cries against
Verlaine.

After that Yerssot Force-jumps backwards turns around quickly to see what the silhouette is...

Yerssot, it's a ship! It's a small spaceship, flying through the air quickly to your position...

Yerssot doesn't want to wait and see... he quickly jumps off the statue; holding an eye on both the ship and the alien...

It is a small, sleek, black spaceship, big enough to carry about ten people. You get the briefest glimpse of the woman in black at the controls...

The ramp is down. As it flies past, the big alien force-jumps onto the ramp, staring down at you as he does so. Then the ship shoots away into the atmosphere...

Suddenly, it is very quiet.

Yerssot has now two thoughts on his mind:
see how Derin is doing and where is the other fallen Jedi?

Quickly he runs to Derin; hoping nothing has happend.
His lightsabre still ignited...

Verlaine is barking orders into his communicator to track the ship immediately.

Derin is still being loaded onto the hover-gunboat right now. As you approach, one of the medics catches your inquiring eye, and shakes his head, sadly.

Yerssot walks to the guy.
"you mean?? he is ... death?"

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
Yerssot de-activates his sabre... falls down on his knees and begins to cry... thinking about his failed mission... now he will be kicked out of the Temple; he was also not capable of doing his mission righy!

Verlaine talks to one of Derin's entourage.

"Inform the State Duma that First Minister Derin has been killed. Tell them that whoever did this will be hunted down and brought to justice. And make sure that son of a slimeball Faylar knows that WE know that he organised this!" Verlaine's anger shines out like a beacon, almost overwhelming the sadness you can feel from everyone else.

Verlaine approaches you, Yerssot, and outs a hand on your shoulder.

"You did the best you could," he says. "If it were not for you, we would ALL be dead." Verlaine thinks for a few moments.

"If Faylar can call upon these dark assassins again, then there is no hope for any of us. I need you to help me track them, Jedi. Our forces can deal with any normal enemy but not these people. Do I remember you saying something about OTHER Jedi in the area?"

"I don't know where they are. They're not ware they're supposed to be." Yerssot is still feeling down.
"Can somebody do the speech instead of Derin? The speech is extremly important.
After that we can try and communicate with the other Jedi, or the Jedi Council... this last one must be done as soon as possible!"

"Well, I will certainly make A speech to the Duma," says Verlaine. "I don't think I will make his. But to be honest... it was a lost cause anyway Derin hoped to turn it all around, but everyoine knew Faylar had already won.

"Damagran WILL declare its independance from the Republic. But Faylar knew this, so WHY kill Derin when he had already won? It makes no sense..."

An aide approaches Verlaine.

"The unidentified ship has entered hyperspace," he reports.

"Can we track it?" asks Verlaine.

"We are trying..." says the aide.

I know why they did it, Yerssot thinks, the whole republic can fall and we, the Jedis are then too bussy for them...

"Come, we got this far; let's give the speech! After that I need to contact the Jedi Council!"

Yerssot tries to take the lead but still thinks he is the responsable one...
He askes a last question:
"How did he died? Could he be saved if I were here?"

The statue is finally being cleared out the way and the remainds of the convoy carry on towards the Duma.

"We thought he'd survived the last bomb blast," said Verlaine, "but he seemed to have died... there will have to be an autopsy... but I still think you did your best, Jedi.

"I have a speech to make. We will speak afterwards."

I don't want to fail a mission twice! Yerssot thinks. He takes his lightsabre and holds it in his hand...
He watch how Verlaine gets in the speeder. He follows shortly after that.

Verlaine does indeed make it to the Duma safely. They are shocked to hear of Derin's death, but if you were hoping this would create sympathy for his cause then you would be disappointed. The mood is EXTREMELY anti-Republic. Verlaine comes storming out afterwards in a foul temper.

Meanwhile, to remind the other players, you are still in the Landing Authority on Jaglon Beata. Gundark, you have just eased the pain of the stricken traffic controller, and got a description of his assailant (Edna). You have also learnt that any important information can only be found in the secure zone up the top of the base.

"Verlaine, I must make contact with the Jedi Council! This is very important!"
Yerssot runs towards Verlaine with his lightsabre in his hand.
"I hope you understand this!"

"Watch where you point that thing!" says Verlaine.

"I'm sorry. All off-world communication is still impossible. The intruders saw to that. We are working on getting it back on-line but it will take time... time we don't have if you want to find those people."

Yerssot is shocked thinking that Verlaine thinks he is clumsy:
"Excuse me; but I know how to use this!
How long will it take to get it back on-line?"
"I don't know much about the other Jedi, they are missing and I've taken the task upon me to protect Derin"

"It's a bit late for that," says Verlaine.

"We don't know how long it ill take to get back on-line. Depends how bad the damage was to the transmitters. If you wait until we are back on-line we will lose our trace on the ship and you will NEVER find the people that did this."

"Well, don't talk! We must keep moving! Get a ship and see where the Dark Jedis are; in space I can also contact the Jedi Council!"
