USH'S GAME EPISODE I- "AVALAR"- Light Side (Lance Windu, Gundark, Phinney)

"All our bays are full now anyway," says the controller. "You may NOT land!"

There is only one space port on the planet, yerssot, and i is part of the only settlement, a large base built around an extinct volcano. It is well-defended; you would be foolish to try and land there without permission. You could probably land anywhere else you liked on the planet but there is not much there.

"What the ... ??? I'm hit!! I'm hit!! My crafts not responding anymore!!"

Yerssot cries out in horror...
He quickly pushes a button and smoke appears outside the ship...

"Fire in the whole!!"

He pushes a few buttons and takes the steeringstick...
The ship falls down in a lateral spin...

"What is your emergency? What is your emergency?", says the traffic controller, rapidly.

Jaglon Beta's atmosphere is harsh, but your shileds easily take the heat. Navigating a ship at a time like this is taxing even for an ally of the Force. Accurate landing wuill be difficult mWhere do you want to go?

Technology can have a strong influence on the weak-minded; Yerssot thinks.

"The engine is death! Vertical stabilizers broken down; horizontal is doing strange! Loosing altitude! Shields will hold!
This is NOT good!"

Yerssot focus himself with the Force as his ally on his navigation... his plan is to land near the outskirts of the city...

"Do you copy? I repeat: do you.........." Statique can be heard... Yerssot quickly pushes the communication switch."

Now let's fly this one good! He thinks...

You try to control your spin as you make a concincing crash-dive towards the settlement. You crash through the static bub le that keeps the atmosphere out, causing it to flex and wobble.

The settlement is in two parts; one at the top of the volcano and one around the base. However, the top part appears to be some sort of heavily defended military installation; there is no way you could 'crashland' there even if you wanted to.

The outskirts are more like a small city; there are docking bays placed all around the outside. Many are full of small ships.

Further out than that it quickly turns into a harsh wasteland.

You are going down very fast...

Yerssot thinks quickly.
Now he is in the bubble he tries to slow down...
the Jedi will try to go to the outskirts; because there are hangarbays that may serve as a buffer...

Your ship spinds down wildy towrads the hangar bays. Now you must try and smooth out your dive or it really WILL be a crash!

-

Meanwhile, in a reminder for the other players. JO, Phinney and Gundy are all in the Landing Authority building, where Gundy has just identified a girl named 'Edna' as the mysterious assailant of the traffic controller. This also likely means that RC's cover has been blown. Guindy has also dsicovered that any answers are to be found in the secure upstairs area.

Unaware of this problem, RC is trying to get upstairs himself by infiltrating the pirate clan. He has got them interested but hasn't closed the deal yet...

Yerssot pulls the flyingstick towards him and sets the engine in reverse...

After stabelising the ship to a horizontal position he gives a little bit of gas... hoping this will be sufficient...

The crash landing is a little more convincing than you had hoped. An emergency forcefiled is activated around the hangar bays once they saw your possible collosion incoming. Yopu see it just a little too late, and the left wing of your ship catches the field as you try to get out of the way. Your ship rolls, and then crahses heavily onto the ground. Still powered, it starts to skid across the landscape, away from the settlement...

YES! Yerssot thinks...
First thing completed; now to get out of this...

Yerssot get's the engine in reverse... hoping this will slow it down again...

The engine screams and whineas, and there is a huge jolt as the ship slams into something solid. It spins around a few times before finally coming to a resat.

The power is out. May take a little work to get this lot going again.

MEANWHILE...

Due to Phin's long-term absence (don't worry, buddy, play when you can), you people are down a member. Never fear! Welcome to your new team-mate, Firemaster! He hjas posted a profile, his game name is Morpheus (he has to meet Krisha!), and he is a Master, so show some respect...

-

Morpheus, for some time now you have been in the outer rim, on your own initative. The Council rarely issues orders to its rare Masters, and they trust their judgment. Still, times have been hectic lately, an while you enjoy romaning the remote territories, righting wrongs and reminding people that the Republic DOES still exist, you feel it is about time you returned to the Temple.

You are currently in a very remote part of space, chasing down pirates. Thet seem to have scattered. No matter; you have broken their power. This entire sector is full of vast ion storms that make communications, scanning and tracking impossible. You can do no more here.

Navigation is difficult, but once your engines have cooled you think you can set a course to Coruscant. While you wait, you mediate in your room. And you start to see things...

There is a cold, icy planet in some distant sector... it is night time, but the stars are confusesd an umfamiliar to you. A large, black, evil fortress rises out of the ice. A great cry starts, and black-robed warriors charge towards the fortress gates, where they are met by others in similar uniform. The fighters, to your surprise, all draw lightsabres, and a grand battle begins, and you sense a great, great evil...

Now, the fortress is old, and broken, and abandoned. The starts have chnaged position. The evil seems quiet and subdued, but restless, as it it wants to escape, escape and smother the galaxy again. Figures are moving in the distance, and there is a fallen figure in the snow. You cannot see the figures clearly, but the fallen one is closer, wearing Jedi robes... you approach, to look more closely...

And then suddenly you are not on the ice world at all, but a harsh, rocky place with a large volcano nearby. The dead figure is still by you, though, with a gaping wound in her chest. You reach forwards to lift the hood...

GUNDARK!

Your friend, Jedi Master Gundark...

You come to with a start. You try to remember details of the vision, but they are fading fast. But you are left with a name... the name of a world... Jaglon Beta...

Gundark is there. You must go to her. Now! She is in terrible danger!

Yerssot gets notified by the support-system that the planet he is now on is not liveable...

He stands up; swetting... he searches the rooms, not sure if he has what he wants...

finally he sees it: an old space-suit with build-in anit-gravity boots. After a quick chance Yerssot stepps outside, walking towards the city...

Well, there is certainly not much out here, except the settlement...

How are you planning to approach it? Walking straight for the outer docking bays, or finding something like a vent shaft to enter from, or skipping the buildings entirely and scaling the volcano to get in from above?

Yerssot looks around, well, there isn't much around but he made his choice. He walks straight towards the settlement. If this way failes he can still enter on another way.

While going towards the settlement he plays he has hurt his leg. Everything to get in may help...

Ok, you have two problems:

1. the emergency crash force fields are still up and are covering the docking bays

2. The armed patrol coming out so see you...

Yerssot double-checks his lightsabre... it's still there...
Calmly he walks towards the guards; still having the limb

I calmy wait for my engines to cool down but still worried about the life of gundar.
I leave as fast as I can and set a course for the planet

I also send a message to coruscant to the jedi council to let them know that I won't be returning soon and to let them know that I had a vision which involved the fadct that the life of gundar is in danger
if they think it is necessairy it might be useful to send more jedi knights, seeing that the sith (altho extinged for a long time) were in the vision

but the anwser of the council leaves me little worrying
my thoughts dwell on my friend

Gundark, Oasis and Phinney had split up. The younger Knights had begun walking east toward the more crowded pedestrian area, while Gundark moved with caution toward the secured tower. The traffic controller had recovered his senses enough to stumble away, still mumbling to himself. Gundark had taken all the description of Edna that the man had given her and composed it into a single parameter in her mind and kept half her attention focused there. The other half was on getting through what she knew would be an unbreachable wall of security waiting for her. Gundark would just have to find that one small weakness...and start from there. She reached out briefly with the Force for RC and got a hurried flicker in return. Busy. No help there. She kept her left hand near her sabre, slipping from shadow to shadow, still with that palpable feeling she was being watched.

Firemaster- the planet 'Jaglon Beta' is on the Outer Rim and not too far. It is part of something called the 'Damagran Confederacy', a 14-planet alliance of worls that joined the Republic 1000 years ago. Last you heard, it was also having a huge pirate problem, but why Gundark would be there, you have no idea.

You set your course, but as for your message to Coruscant, the local Ion storms make you uncertain if your message will reach there- at best, it will be garbled.

-

Yerssot, the guards approach. At first you though they qould be local security, but they are too ill-dressed for that. Mercenaries?Pirates? Tricky to tell, but either ay their guns are drawn. You can feel trepidation and curiosity from them.

-

Gundy, the situation with the upper level is as follows:

The base is built around an extinct volcano, with many buildings at the bottom and a few more at the top. Most people are only allowed down below. The upper section is secure and off-limits. Thw two sections are connected by a long cable-car. This is the only obvious way up; it is well-guarded and once you are on you will be very vulnerable during the journey up or down- if anyone notices anything wrong, they only have to cut the power to strand you.

And there are many guards. Mind Trick one and the others will be suspicious. This job is going to require some effort, or perhaps some lateral thinking...
