Ok, here is the updated situation in the fight with the mundanes
--------
Guard 1: Ok
Guard 2: Hit
Guard 3: Ok
SWAT 1: Ok
SWAT 2: Ok
SWAT 3: ok
SWATS have a base skill of 1 rather than zero
1 is up against Ares, 2 and 3 against Cloud, and the Swat guys are in against Lance.
Ares: 6/0/0
Cloud: 8/0/1
Lance: 9/0/0
Ares and his opponent have not moved, Cloud and his have moved twice each and he is just doing his third attack, Lance has attacked once and now needs to defend against all three
---------
Can't be dodged, rather than cannot be blocked, Cloud. However, that suits you just fine! Guard 6 is now guard 3- either way his Block is no match for your blow, which takes all the breath out of his body and causes him to collapse- Out.
Guard 2 tries to smash your right kneecap with his nightstick.
-
Coeus rolls a +4 for his attack, making it 8-8- a hit!
Damage on a base kick hit for Coeus against Fire is four points (Kick +2, one point stronger +2)
Despite your fast dodge, Fire, the sheer speed of Coeus' leaping kick catches you. Fire gains an exertion. Coeus kicks AGAIN, and you must react again, Fire.
Doh! It's all on the first page...
When you make slow moves, you gain exertion points. When you make fast moves, you lose them. If you get too much exertion you lose your next action. If you lose 'too much' exertion, you gain an action. The amount needed for either depends on your speed.
5 swats? No messing, huh? Taking your sword?
Ok. +1 damage is wasted against a mundane but the kick does not get the standard penalty and Kicks are more likely to Out mundanes so it is still good.
Very good, in fact. The guard tries to twist and )dodge) out of the way, but your fast roundhouse catches him in the face and- falling back several feet, he is taken Out the combat.
All done!
Ok, the entire combat system is now contained in one thread here:

Some changes- explanations of damage and how I calculate hitting, Exertion has been seperated out so people can find it quicker, clairifcation of some older rules, and the Paths have had their first alteratioins- most notably the Hungry Tiger but also several others, powers shifted, modified, and added.
