I disliked the second two matrix's because i felt that in the first film, it had all been done already. The socond movie would have been better if it wasnt a follow-up of the first matrix. The fight scenees were too similar to the matrix. The freeway scene was a good entry, as were the twins, as they provided something we havent seen before. Revolutions.... well i dont know why, but i hated it!!! Wasnt the matrix meant to be about kicking ass with kung foo and guns. Instead it was some CGI futuristic battle with aliens. Sorry matrix fans, but i hated the last two... But i loved the original
The Alpha - I understood the movies, and I still don't believe they stand up to the first one. Why? To be quite honest, they seemed to be the very embodiment of the phrase "Pretentious, moi?"; in M1, the philosophy and action was integrated very well, but in 2 and 3 I just don't feel the philosophy was as sharp or as interesting. And the action may have been fantastic, but it seemed to me a case of CGI fatigue.
M1 made you care about the characters; when Morpheus was captured, we want him to escape. Mifuane dies and, seeing as we met him 10 minutes previously, I just didn't really care about that. In fact, some of the main characters {like morpheus} were virtually spectators to the events, which I felt was a gross error. Who cares about Sati and whoever? Give us more morpheus!
Oh, and don't get me started on the plot; virtually the whole of M2 is spent just so that neo can have a 10 mins conversation with the Architect. and M3 just goes full ahead with action, poorly explaining some of the lingering threads. "The one's power is drawn from the source". Huh? We need clarification! At least with MWAM everything could have been neatly explained.
Originally posted by VENOMfanyup, i thought to much DBZ. these guys "Wachowskis" watch way to much anime and they felt DBZ would fit in just nice. it was a good fight, but ya
I thought the fight was amazing in revoloutions, even tho it was a little DBZ'ish it was definetly cooler than any fight i had seen up till then.
I reckon da fight in M3 was kinda crappy like da bullet-time punch was mad, but if Neo was in the Matrix y wasn't there more bullet-time, there was a lil bit, but i fink John Gaeta was a bit lazy with da bullet-time in m3. He probably most of da budget in the sentinals in zion invasion (which looked bloody awesome) but i just think that Bullet-time looks awesome too thats wat i went to see.
Ha.....fools, like the Oracle said "We can never see past the choices that we don't understand" and this guy cant see past anything other then his own ignorance....so maybe he did not like the matrix.....but perhaps he was unable to see the truth, look past the surface, look through the soft gelatin of his dull cow eyes and see an amazing trilogy that will go down in history as one of the most thought provoking, action packed philosophical movies of all time.....

Oh, another "I hate Reloaded/Revolutions"? There exists two or three threads on this already. Please read the FDT before posting - thank you.
Remember: Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But just yelling and screaming accomplishes nothing. So no flaming or this thread goes down the bin.

You are mistaken. A virus is a line of programming code that writes itself INTO another file, namely executable files or dynamic link library files, but can also show up in *.ocx, database, text, HTML, activex, and various other files.
I know computer science quite well and worked as a computer technician/CIS-IT tech for a little over 10 years as a trade. Here are the dynamics of what happened between Neo and Smith:
Smith killed Neo, but since Neo's mind subconsciously rejected the programming of the matrix he was still linked to the real world and it was the love of Trinity that gave his mind a reason NOT to let go. When he "resurrected" himself, his digital being was altered inside the matrix. Smith's bullet, which is just another program, caused the whole chain reaction.
That's because "killing" a person inside the matrix is just a manner of terminating a program shell (think of the web browser you're viewing this in, it's a separate program running on a process tree outside of the operating system, so you can terminate it without effecting anything else that is open). But Neo's mind was not plugged into the matrix system, it was on a pirate signal, AND it rejected the programming so the shell did not terminate, it went into a loop running in the background (best way I can explain it).
When Neo "deleted" Smith, he didn't delete the program Smith, he terminated THAT shell. After that Smith was supposed to return to the Machine Mainframe for deletion, but he didn't. He didn't because when his program process was "hacked" by Neo, and then the process terminated, Neo inadvertently altered the programming code. The same means are used by hackers every day to break into systems over the internet or gain access to CD-Key coded programs for free. In the case of internet hacking, they may telnet to a port on a computer, like port 79 (finger) port 23 (telnet) port 21 (FTP), or port 25 (smtp) to name but a few out of several hundred. Once connected to a responding port, they will execute a series of commands to crash the program that runs on that port which gives them what's called root access, and the damage that can be done is that the program they crash, and others communicating with it, may become corrupt, or, very rarely, very vulnerable to internet worms.
Think of that as what happened to Smith. When Neo jumped into him, Smith's programming code was altered, and he got caught in a loop that made him determined to destroy Neo. This made him virus like because that loop destroyed any safeguards that may have given him a logical reasoning ability so as not to destroy the Matrix.
The answer is also eluded to by the Oracle in Matrix Revolutions when Neo goes to visit her, listen to their conversation. She says something like "Bits and pieces are still there." and "I don't recognize your face but I recognize your soul." Now I'm sure my wording is off, but what she says is along those lines, and what she says applies to all programs inside the matrix.
But, simply, to be infected with a virus is to have a piece of programming code execute on your computer and copy itself INTO (NOT over) another file on your computer.
Does that answer your question?
BTW - I'll let you know if something's wrong w/ my keyboard...lol But I doubt it'd be a problem with the several computers I own!!! 😉
Well if that isn't possible, try and figure out how else it could have happened, nobody says for certain that it was the copying/overwriting that caused it, Smith simply says "PERHAPS some part of you imprinted onto me, something overwritten or copied." Smith and everyone in the movie seems just as clueless as you are, its never pointed out clearly exactly what caused it, the only thing that clarifies the connection is The Oracle going on about Smith being Neo's negative, the result of the equation trying to balance itself out, maybe it wasn't the copying all along, think about it, if it can't be explained or doesn't make any sense at all then obviously that isn't how it happened, it was just a guess Smith made at how it happened, so if it is entirely impossible for it to occur with the copying then try and figure out how else it could have happened.
And it didn't exactly create a virus, that is simply what Smith chose to do with the power being the evil bastard he is. So is it possible in COMPUTER SCIENCE for something to inherit ANYTHING from a program when overwritten?
Think about it, no one here has an answer, but they are at least trying to put the pieces it together.
Good day sir. 🍺
EDIT: This is all directed at The Alpha, Metamorphisis' post was not there when i started this post, so if he answers any questions in his post that are repeated in my post (i don't answer a damn thing), terribly sorry.
EDIT 2: I just read Meta's post, i suck many a anus, Meta being the mad man that he is, answered everything, leaving my post meaning nothing and just a waste of space... ahh well.
