Marylyn Manson isn't a satonist, he's just a no talent attention whore, who uses visual gimmics to get the attention off of his crappy snore inducing music. He's just a normal guy as far as I can tell, I doubt he slaughters lambs and drinks their blood, or sacrifices virgins or any of that crap. He just does crap for shock value, nothing more.

I was just thinking about the idea that we all worship the same god. (with the exception of atheists)

Hmm, well maybe your definition of a good show differs from mine, but too me a good show isn't watching some guy walk around with his ass hanging out.

As I said, he has to be a decent performer to make up for his crap music. And that's a good comparison you made. He is like Britney Spears.

Maybe we humans are just incapable of grasping our own existence. Ush made at speech once about how "natural" doesn't apply to us, or lot of the things we do.
We're self-conscient... And try to understand our tiny, insignificant spot in this vast Universe, on a microscopic planet, in around a rather ordinary star, in an unfashionable part of one among billions of galaxies.

Some of us choose to wonder and marvel at this. Others go religious... In all reality it isn't pehaps so strange.

yeah manson said he was a satinist before, People dont understand what satinism is though. There are many forms of it aswell, some of which dont even believe in any kind of God, like manson. I have had satanist friends before. All it basically is, is putting yourself before any and everything, if pleasure can be obtained, then take it. Satanists have often been known to impose there beliefs on other people, so i guess there no different than any other major religous belief, if your narcisistic then you are able to be a satanist.

A satan without a God(evil without good) is pointless, it would be the same as a tide without a low tide. If Manson believes in satan without believing in a god he clearly missed out on a vital part and comes out sounding like a fool

Here's the deal... Manson is a "priest" or whatever they call them in the Church of Satan, which is the largest Satanist branch I'm aware of. It depends on how you define Satanism--but "officially", Manson is a Satanist. Theoretically, if you define Satanism as devil worship, he's not.

You're missing my point... What I said about Manson was that "Satanism" as it is today doesn't necessarily mean "devil worship". He rejects Christianity (supposedly), but that doesn't mean he worships Satan. I also reject a lot of Christianity, but that doesn't make me a Satanist.

There are differing degrees of atheism. Personally, I'd say you're an atheist.
dictionary says:
"One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods."

You don't necessarily have to say that it's impossible for there to be a god in order to be an atheist.

Darn right! Anyone who believes that 'Natural' automatically means 'Right' has lived their life with their eyes closed.

But... why the heck should worshipping Satan be in any way explainable? Let's face it, whether real or imagined, Satan is the personification of all that is evil. If you worship him but then try and make out that what you do isn't so bad, I cannot help thinking you are worshipping the wrong concept, or at least using the wrong name for what you DO worship.

But there is no point getting into a "If God is good and powerful why do bad things happen?" argument, not only because that is an argument that belongs in the Nursery (it is square one of the religious debate book and has been done to death, and too many people say it as if that is the end of the matter), but also because it can cause a storm which brings us right back as to why religious debates are so frowned upon around here.
