Well, just think about it. People are raised on it, from the time they're old enough to understand human speech. They are taught to believe in something that may or may not be true, and is, in fact, largely fabricated. Sounds like mind control to me.

Well, there are times when I feel what the Japanese call "Kensho", which is sort of like temporary enlightenment. Just a period of time when, doing something you love doing, you feel a natural high. I don't consider that feeling God though. And I feel fear too, but I don't consider that feeling evil. I was going to a Methodist church.

Yep some are raised in church their whole life, but what do you think about a kid that just goes to church as a kid on their own, not made and developes their beliefs on their own, no adults?

By the statement to which you enquired, Fiery Eyes, I meant the ppl like you, who believe their religion SO MUCH.....
I can't explain it really...........

They'd beat me on my way to school.....I once tried to hide in a Church, and the Priest threw me out, callind me "devil-child! Be Gone!"

That is horrible hun, I'm not like that tho, for you to put me in that catagory. thats like saying, A white man robs a store, so hate all white people noooooooooooooooooooo you shldn't thats wrong.

Well.....um....
Most ppl who believe the Holy Bible raise their kids so that they don't respect any other Religion, nor try to make peace with those who believe in these other Religions.
It's the same with other Religions aswell, like Islam preaching to make Jihad against the Jewish and Christian ppls........

I'm sorry Fiery Eyes, your right, it's like I said all other Religious ppl would do that, so "hate them".....that is not what I wish........

That's impossible if the person is going to church. You are being taught a religion by other people and made to believe in it. Nobody in a church tells you things like, "You can decide on your own whether or not you believe what we're telling you". And it's not just churches either, the internet is littered with thousands of sites preaching about how Christianity is the only way, even going so far as to say all other religions are devil worship.

Sorry i was missing post LOL i thk we were all posting and i wasn't getting all of them. I'm not like that though, I know that Jesus did NOT come to condem the world but to save the world, therefore how could I mistreat someone cuz they believe diff than I, or I thk they're living wrong, I can't that woud be wrong of me. The best for me to do, is to live my life and how that they can see Jesus in me and try to set an example.
I was that kid, no one made me go to church. My family didn't go, i was the only one in my family growing up that went, until i reached high school then my mom came. I had such a yearning even as a child to go to church and serve God.

You need to reread my post, "hun"...

I thk we were posting at the same time. I do see what you are saying, but I had a yearning to go to church even as a child.

and they have even found pieces of Noahs ark
no they have not. I know you chrisitans like to believe so but they have not found pieces of Noahs ark.

That's not my point... My point is that what happens in church is the same thing... Doesn't necessarily have to come from somebody's parents.

Right, but what i'm saying is that "I" had a yearning even as a child to attend church. I wanted to go, I wanted to learn about God, yes there is teachers there to teach you, but my choice was to go and be taught.

I understand that... Doesn't change what I'm saying. It's impossible to formulate your own ideas about Christianity. Your own ideas about God, yes, but not Christ.

yes they have

all they've found is a big dark something inside a glacier. That could be anything. As could pieces of wood resembling a boat's hull, which I haven't heard about.

The yearning came from Jesus, thats why i wanted to go. Why else would i want to go?

I don't know, any number of reasons. I also decided to start learning about Buddhism on my own. People are more independant than you give them credit for.

I know that God put them in me even as a child.

How do you know that? Wanting to know about a religion doesn't mean that the god of that religion is telling you to do so.
