Can I just ask you why you believe a god exists to begin with? I hope that doesn't sound ignorant or patronizing. Believe me, I'm not criticizing your belief, just trying to better understand it.
i am in no way offended at all that you should ask...but be warned: it may be trite and often contradictory and repetitious...but isn't that the way of humans??
As I've said, I was born into and raised a catholic so I'm quite familiar with the rituals and all the aspects of my religious beliefs, but I never truly felt a closeness to God in any sense...
just something to be feared and obeyed lest we are condemned to Hell-fire...But I've always felt God in my heart, however the catholic view was lacking....so I began to search for God, literally.
I actually attended different congregations: seventh day adventists, prostestantism, lutheran, mormonism, christian orthodox, born again. Though i didn't attend the jewish or muslim churches i studied it vigorously to understand...but they all had one common denominator: in the beginning God was to feared, he was vengeful, he jealous. He tested Job to no end to prove that Job's feelings for God were unshakable? He commanded Abraham to sacrafice his son to prove his worth? Then by an act so profound he begat a son and through him all of humanity was forgiven...So i ask, why could God not forgiven us before all that? Why could he not have forgiven Adam of his first sin in the creation story, IF we're to take that story as it is, which I don't...
An angry God, a loving GOd. A vengeful God, a merciful God...then I thought, how can I believe in a God who is so filled with our own frailties and very human emotions that would cause so much misery and pain and hatred between man. How? Then I thought if this is God, then God is no better than we...God, who is so divine, so supreme, the creator of all things, became - US...
and when I thought of God in our contemporary times as the loving and merciful and forgiving God, I asked: Will God show mercy and forgiveness to those who've never known God?
If the righteous are rewarded with paradise in Heaven, and the unrepentant cast into a lake of fire, what of those that do not believe in the christian or hebrew or muslim God...Can God be so specific and show favoritism and allow those who've lived good and honest lives but have never known our God to forever endure eternal pain and agony???
It's horrible...how can I believe in God when He created us all only to condemn a few...is there a reason? a purpose? and if so, what? so that humanity will learn a lesson. that the righteous path is narrow and crooked but the road to sin is wide and straight...to tempt us in order to see if we are worthy?
I did not ask for this...If God must test, and tempt and fill our lives with misery to temper our hearts and soul like steel to make a hardened sword...how in all of my frail, limited mind can ever accomplish what is that he asks of me when he does not answer, but through a stirring of the heart a half-heard whisper in the mind a flicker of the imagination...
No, i decided that God throught its many manifestation through the literal works of the bible, written and rewritten, translated and retranslated...debated, subjected, was not or is not the God for me...for that God is the God that has been given all of man's very real and very imagined thoughts, feelings and actions...
every aspect of YOU(pl) is every aspect of God....
God created man...man reinvented God
God to me...is
if you need to know more...please feel free to pm me

No you are just being a Butt, i was listing healings and miracles that i have seen and witnessed, why is that so hard for you to understand???

To answer WhiteEagle’s question to why I believe God exists…this is what I’ll say:
So as not to be too confusing I shall sometimes say “He” in place of God for the lack of a better term…although God cannot be engendered: but this is my thoughts and my thoughts only, and to some it will counter their own beliefs and will likely think me delusional; so be it…
First of all, I do not believe God exists. For something to exist it has to have a beginning and for it to begin it must have an end…therefore God just…is
I cannot fully explain nor will I attempt to the creation story for it is beyond my limited intellect…but did God create the universe, the world, the beasts and fowl, man? Yes…but for all that, I cannot subscribe to the notion or the idea of what God is in the biblical sense…nor can I do so as to what God is in our own contemporary times.
God in his limitless has become limited by our finite wisdom so as to feel a closeness to a thing that is beyond ourselves to fully comprehend if given an infinitesimal amount of time…God exists(if you will) solely for his existence…not ours
God is the sum for all of humanity to become and not the other way around…God created man, in his image…and in our vanity we have recreated God in ours…and in our folly we’ve lowered his status…
IF, if God is loving and merciful why then should a select few be rewarded paradise while others not? Forgiveness is a human attribute…so then God is human? Obviously not.
God is in us, above us, below us, around us…God is in the air we breathe, the food we eat, the love or hate you feel towards others…God is
If one looks in a mirror you will see God as we see him…a farcical human for that is what man has done over the centuries to God’s divinity…I know God for knowing what I am not – God…and I know me for knowing what God is not – me…and yet God is everything and nothing…God just is
God is in everything that our human eyes see and not see…He is the spark that gives life, the spark to our imaginations, the spark to overcome, to be defeated and undefeated. To live and die, that is God…God is the songs out of birds mouths, the gentle winds and its gale force…when the sun rises and sets you feel God’s presence; a tranquility best described in man’s words not Gods…
God exists because we exist…and when we die, He dies with us…not in the physical sense that we do, but in the sense for that individual’s thought process has ceased to function…
In a word: God is a conundrum that cannot be explained nor ascribed for all of humanities desire to do so…God for me…is
We choose our lives as we see fit…but man in his infinite wisdom has placed that burden on God by iterating we’ve been given free will…but that free will has consequences if chosen badly…the faithful is rewarded, the unrepentant is damned…can God really set conditions on us that way? No, we did…
God exists because God just…is
Do I know God? Yes, for what he isn’t…: you, me, us, we, they, them…
And in this I am alone in my thinking. Which is as it should be…
And if you were to ask me of Heaven and Hell…this I do have to say. There is no Hell and Heaven is a place for all…

Well, when you pray for that specific thing, and it happens, you don't thk thats divine intervention? lol like i said, some people will alwys come up w/a reason of some sort just cuz they don't want to believe there is a God.
not until I see some prove of it no
and it has nothing to do with not wanting to believe there is a god. it has to do with the lack of evidence about it, I don't believe in god because I don't not because I don't want to.
WhiteEagle> My pleasure. It’s called logic 😄 Here you can read more about it http://www.infidels.org/news/atheism/logic.html A MUST in debating. 🙂
FE> “The scriptures i did give you do tell that, that is where it took place. From that point in the bible, everyone went to the diff parts of the earth, but you can believe what you want to believe.”
No. The parts of the Bible you showed me merely tells of the Bibles view on how and when different languages arose. I asked how the different skin-colours arose, silly. Don’t tell me language and skin-colour is the same.
This has ZERO to do with what I believe, but everything to do with yet another thing the Bible doesn’t mention.
”And asking about the Statue, ummmmmmmmmm there is ALOT of people that DO worship the buddah statue and pray. did I say darth did, NO, there is a ton that do.”
🙄 Oh, so when you pray to a sculpture of Jesus on the Cross, you are worshipping a sculpture. I see…
And did I say you said Darth worshipped a statue? Please, strick to what’s being written and don’t invent wrongs against you. Or are you hearing things again?
”I don't care if you believe me or not, that is strictly up to you, we all have opinions, agree to disagree if you don't like.”
Believe what? This is not a belief forum. It doesn’t matter if I believe YOU. It matters if you can make an argument, participate in a debate and contribute something meaningful to it.
About dinosaurs: Wouldn’t it make the Bible a WHOLE lot more credible, if it contained info on the dinosaurs?
