🙂 God has always warned people before destruction comes, even now people are being warned, he is coming back and if you're not ready, destruction will come. Jesus paid the price therefore Mercy and Grace has taken place. God hates sin that bad....he warned before he destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah, God told Johan to warn Nineva, or he would destroy it, and they turned from their wicked way and he did not destroy, Abraham Did not scrifice he's son, yes he was asked to but...God never allowed that to happen, he wanted to see would Abram do that for me, and he found out yes he would, but God wanted to find out if he LOVED God as much as God loved him, cuz God was going to send his Son to save the world. 🙂
So.....because I'm not heeding his warnings.....I'm going to Hell? 😕
I don't remember the spot in the bible where He says "Even when you are with me you will be in need." But the ramifications are endless. It means that you need not give up this life or sacrifice your needs to have what is your own. Imagin a life where you had to give up your needs or lose your needs. If all these things that fullfill us are gone and all that is left is the fullfillment, that isn't very worthwhile.
What i ment by the title of this thread is that this is the way of asking the question is God capable of anything. Not just what we see as miricals but is he truely capable of anything at all.
Most people believe No when it goes against thier sensitivities when the answer is that He is.
Also in the bible He states that his plan is for Man to reach equnimity with Him. That is something I have always known about myself and how I relate to Him, even when i didn't know it and just related to Him.
As far as my personal work goes, it has always been to be at One with myself. All my work goes twords that goal, be it in relationships with others or what I do.
Okay, about this whole God/healing/answering prayers thing... Prayer is like a placebo. Indeed it can help us overcome illness, but only because we believe that it's helping us. We believe fully that god will help us to get better, and it gives our bodies the strength they need to fight off the illness. So religion isn't totally useless 😛

Vaya the Elf> But a parent doesn’t give a child freedom to do ANYTHING it wants. According to Christianity God is omnipresent and omnipotent – he’s far more than us mere humans. So if we are his children he should take care of us. A good parent won’t let a child play with matches or fire, because the child does not know all the consequences of its actions. So should God not give us all the freedom that we can’t handle – but he does.
God isnt like a normal parent. We do what we do because God gave us choice to do whatever we want. He could have made us mindless puppets that do his will but he gave us choice to do and choose whatever we want. And God does take care of us, he loves us - he always has and he always will not matter what you do or think. So God does give us freedom in so many way, some people just refuse to see it. 😛

Agree!!!! 🙂
Holy Spirit?
Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, speaking in other tongues? Some churches do and some don't. Yes I do believe in speaking in other tongues as the spirt gives you utterance.
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
God is said to be such a powerful and divine entity. But everything you could claim he can do is always through man, it's all disputable, none can be proven to be the work of god. If a god really does exist, I'd like him to come down from heaven and have a 5 minute conversation with me over a cup of coffee. How cool would that be? 😄 That would be a god I could believe in and respect. I don't think that would be asking too much of an all powerful entity. After all, what's 5 minutes to eternity? 😉

FE> By your own admission you take the Bible literal. But how do you deal with the things that are not IN the Bible? Important things – such as how the different colours of human beings appeared after Noah’s Ark touched ground again.
Who’s being rude to you? Humour is allowed around here – Not everyone believe what you believe. Asking if “Buddhism is worshipping a statue” is ignorant at best, and rude at the worst.
And Darth has repeatedly been trying to tell you this: No one says you can’t ask questions. Please find the guilty one who said that and make a “quote” so we can see. Darth merely said what I just said above – ignorant at best, rude at the worst. And as I wrote in reply to your PM: Your quotations from the Bible doesn’t tell us where the different skin-colours came from.
And WhiteEagles post still stands – even if you’re not a catholic. The Bible was NOT written by God, right?
And: Are you open-minded about your religion? Have you ever asked if it could be wrong?
You can’t prove the non-existence of a thing.
Let me show you why that is so. Let’s say I claim rein-deer can really fly, and you say, no they can’t. I then ask you to prove it!
What can you do? You have to find every single rein-deer on Earth and toss them out from the Empire State Building, to show me they can't fly. And then I can always claim it’s a special kind of reindeer, that the flying reindeer hasn’t been born yet, that you haven’t looked all over the world, or that it’s reindeer from a planet around Sirius. Eventually I’ll be asking you to search the entire Universe to make sure that no reindeer, anywhere, at any time in the entire Universe can’t fly.
Logic dictates that it is ME, the one who makes a positive assertion, that has to prove it. I have to find the reindeer that can fly and show it to you.Queeq> No, did I say you WROTE it? But you say you BELIEVE it’s the truth, so don’t whine when I ask why and point to inconsistencies and obvious flaws.
I agree that Hebrew words can have many meanings, and this is one of the reasons behind faulty translations and inconsistencies in the Bible.
“You're moving into a very complicated issue here wuth science, ice ages, language, Sumerians...”
No, I’m just sticking with the topic.
”But it's pretty clear you don't care about the topic, your knowledge is limited and you show very little sign that you want to learn more about it.”
Don’t pretend to know what I know, and don’t take the cowardly way out, by claiming I’m not interested. Answer my questions instead.”You just want to be right, so BE right. the Bible is all nonsense, you win. Good show.”
Coward. 😉
The scriptures i did give you do tell that, that is where it took place. From that point in the bible, everyone went to the diff parts of the earth, but you can believe what you want to believe.
And asking about the Statue, ummmmmmmmmm there is ALOT of people that DO worship the buddah statue and pray. did I say darth did, NO, there is a ton that do.
I don't care if you believe me or not, that is strictly up to you, we all have opinions, agree to disagree if you don't like.
