USH'S MATRIX GAME- TRAINING MISSION- Capture the Flag

Started by Phoenix36 pages

I spot a cop standing behind the first barricade I see and shoot 3 bursts at him with my first gun then I take the second cop I can find standing behind the first barricade and shoot 3 bursts at him with my second gun

(both guns blazing, modified glock18)

((Thanx Fire!))

Rade falls back, inside the building, pulling his mp5.

Noted.

Actually, Phoe, I will need a definitve list of what weapons you are carrying. Glock 18s are not the best choice for a Both Guns Blazing expert but I will have to go with them now.

Your attack is fine, though I should probably point out that using Glock 18s like that means the Both Guns Blazing makes no difference- you could have used one gun to fire three bursts at each! The exception would have been if they were in opposite directions.

BGB is NORMALLY used to pour concentrated fire on a single target. It can be used to hit two targets. but again, normally, that would be used with non-automatic weapons. Fully auto weapons like the Glock 18s can hit multiple targets anyway!

But enough of that, it is all academic! You just fired off 18 bullets and you want to know how they did...

Well, the bad news is that they are in cover, giving you -3. And firing at two targets gives you -2 to hit, giving you -5. But you fired three bursts at each; each burst past the first gives you +1 to hit, so that adds +2. That gives you a final penalty of -3, making your skill 11.

Both cops will dodge, to bring their defensive values to 11 also.

Good shooting, Virus! You rolled +7 and +3. And 18 and a 14, their armour countered by your burst fire. The first one is blown away, bullets riddling him all over. The second is taken nastily in the arm with a Hit by 3, but he is still standing...

Ok, time for the cops to fire back again. Aside from Burn, who is always doing the same defence, I still don't have any defensive actions specified from the other players so you are all just making basic attempts to avoid fire.

Burn, a full FIVE cops are shooting at you now, as the entirity of those behind the third barrier mark you out as the greatest threat. Also the one next to you shoots with +1 to hit as you cross the barricade, and another +1 to hit as he shoots at someone who just charged him down.

But... they all miss! Bullets scream past you as you continue to dodge...

That leaves, in that room, three shots at Castor, two shots and a punch at Cloud.

They all miss Castor.

But Cloud, the easiest target to hit, IS hit, dead on. A bullet clips your leg for five damage, Cloud...

Meanwhile in the other room, we have 13 cops still standing. Four fire at each, with an extra one firing at Virus as she is blazing away merrily with guns.

Ah! Not only is Heph missed, but one of the cops firing at him has a gun jam! Oops! He'll be an action or two clearing that... it was a third barricade cop.

Bad luck, Virus, I guess you are attracting fire. You are hit again, this time for five points, darn it...

CURRENTLY OWED ACTIONS: Castor (2), Virus (2), Mors, Hephaestus (2)

Those currently owed actions can act more than once but I won't 'bank' actions for that long...

But yay! Everyone has now acted at least once!

Ok, Ares and Coeus are now taking the action that will get them halfway down the building.

Fire and Rade are now inside their room and can wreak havoc!

Focus refreshes after this action, so may as well use it!

The cops are about to fire again. This will be a roughly even distribution of shots to everyone in the rooms. The maximum amount of shots anyone will face is five. Therefore, I need everyone in the rooms-

Burn, Cloud, Castor, Heph, Virus, Mors, Rade and Fire

- need to take up to FIVE defensive actions, and I will use as many as required when the shots actually come, soon.

For those of you who have not done this before, you basically have two options- Avoid, which is generally keep a low profile and keep on the move (which means the attack is resolved as normal, and the difficulty for them, to hit you depends on your skill), or Dodge, which means you actively throw yourself clear of the attack, making it harder for you to be hit, BUT this will slow you down. You may also use Path powers to aid you- recommended ones are Willow Step and Vertical Dodge, which will help you dodge ALL of the attacks.

as I rush through the door, I jump forward crossing the first barricade and as I pass the first cop I unleash a terrifying RAOR as I try to cut into him as hard as I can
(flying sword and bite of the dragon -8 focus)
as defencive action I dodge as fast as I can (willow step -1 focus)

Wellk, there is an impressive entrance by the leader... Fire goes scraming over the barricade with a flying sword attack!

Ok, can anyone say 'overkill'? The poor Cop dodged, but Fire rolled +8. Making his total 23 to 11. Even with the armour, with Fire's massive hit that makes the final excess of the target number about 14.

Fire, you just cut that guy clean in half. Eugh! Don;t look too close...

now That's the way to hit you Mother F*ckers, do it like that or go back to your mommies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(bwah...sterroids 😛 )

RAde comes in and opens fire upon the nearest cops. 3 bursts on the nearest two. The eagle eye should be of some use

Ush, if im low on bulletts can i pick up a guard gun, just so i dont wast DE bullets on cops.

(Punch thte hit cop)

It will indeed be some use, Rade! I assume you meant three bursts EACH, yes?

And it might have been nice if you and Burn had declared your defences against the cops, though I suspect I can guess what Burn's is...

Ok, Rade, +2 to hit as you fired three bursts, you can ignore that cover as you have Eagle Eye, gives you a final skill of 15, the dodging guard makes his skill 11.

-1 to your roll- not quite in the swing of this yet! Final total of 14. You can ignore the Guard's armour as you have Eagle Eye. That gun firing burst fire does +2 to a Mundane if you hit, taking you to 16.

Oooh! Close but no cigar! A 5 point hit. That guard is badly wounded but still up! Just about any further hit will drop him.

Second set of bursts you roll +3. Nailed him! That guy is OUT. For eighteen bullets you expected at least one kill though...

Burn- it is a full action to pick up a dropped gun, though you can do it on the move if you do not do anything else.

The cop dodges again as you swing at him.

-1 to your roll. Oh Burn! Not good! You missed! The cop jerks left out of the way of your fist!

Still looking for actions, both offensive and defensive, from a lot of people...

okie guys, dont forget your defencive actions AND OFFENCIVE, if someone takes out that last guy (virus, job opportunity)
hep and mors get over that second barricade FAST

Castor uses clever fox to remove himself from harms way with the help of some focus, then he fires dead at two of the cops using Blazing Guns and Coppertop Killer paths. Taking aim at the next to police officers he dives to his right avoiding incoming fire whilst firing back at two cops. He fires spreading his fire form those two cops to the next.

Ah- need to be a little more specific about which power you mean, Castor- Clever Fox powers are normally for use against close combat attacks! Powers are listed in the Combat Rules Reference and Path areas stuck at the top oof the area...

Ok, firing at two cops with BGB, so noted. Only single shots, though? You are a little more likely to drop them firing 3 from each, but no matter.

Ok, -3 to hit because of their cover- that is a pain. -2 for using Both Guns Blazing at basic level. -2 again for fiuring at two targets! Takes your skill down to 6, and both of your targets are dodging, taking THEiR defensive value to 11. Let's see how you roll.

Bah! No joy, Two misses, I am afraid- the bullets ping off the barricade! That cover is giving you trouble. Also, whilst you CAN use two guns at once you are somewhat inaccurate with them. As guns are your back-up, rather than your primary, offensive skill, it is all conspiring to making hitting a little tricky!

But you still have unspent actions, Castor, so feel free to try again! But I think, in this situation, you may be better off closing in and going hand to hand- or at least getting over the barricades so that cover isn't an issue.

(Ugh....bleh)

Realizing all his attempts a gunfire have failed he dodges gun fire to get in close to the assailants, at which tim he kikes one in the neack and stops his head, he grabs anothers arm and uses hi as a human sheild for any on coming fire as he uses his own gun(only one) to fire at the now closer opponents using coppertop killer to help him out.

(How bout now?)

NOTE- if Rade had specified which cops he was shooting at, he COULD have killed both, as one was already wounded. As it is, he killed the wounded one and nearly killed the healthy one. If he had specified first shot on the wounded one, and second shot on the unwounded one, he would have killed both.

Of course, one normally fires at the unwounded ones first, lest a good shot be wasted, so it is unlikely he WOULD have done that, and no criticism to him. But an example there of how picking your targets can have an effect!

Well, let's take that one at a time. You have two unused actions left.

Your first action gets you over the barricade

Then you have your next action- the last one you have. You want to Kick the guy, yes? You could just do a basic Kick, but your guy is pretty good at kicking!

For example, you could perform an Eye of the Grasshopper- whic would disarm your opponent with your foot and THEN kick him.

Or a Jump of the Grasshopper, which is Trinity's "Jump into the air and then kick them across the room with a mighty blow" kick!

Plenty of options, all covered in the reference area!

damn him,
can i punch again or do i do a defensive action next?

Four actions already for you this round I am afraid, Burn. Only your defence left to declare!

Am i almost there yet, cause im tired of all this running and no fighting...?
