The clip for Don't Go Knockin On My Door was actually a clip for Can't Make You Love Me. With that in mind, does that change your rating on the song????
Okay - Oops! I Did It Again. I was kind of surprised with your review for that one, because I was totally expecting "It's the same as ...Baby, one more time."
OIDIA was intended to be a more grown up version of BOMT (although I must say I missed the more grown up part. Does anyone remember the gratuitous Titanic bit in the middle?) However, I really do like the song. It again serves it's purpose as a successful pop song, and I love dancing to it. It would be so much better without the damned talking bit in the middle though! 😠
Stronger is one of my favourites on the album. I must apologise for all the noise in the background, but I had to rip that audio off the music video. I think it's a real feel good song. It's also one of my favourite music videos.
(I can't Get No) Satisfaction was definately one of her better cover versions IMO. Unfortunately, it tends to be better remembered for the performance that went with it at the VMAs..............
And as for Don't Go Knockin At My Door. No comment. You haven't actually reviewed it yet!!!!

Before this sample even played, I've stated before that I have always been anti-Pepsi and pro-Coca-Cola. That being said, I generally don't have the greatest attitude when reviewing songs with oxymorons as titles.

Okay, to the song...The music is good except for the keyboard timpani crap. I like the vocals - the synthesized harmony sounds a lot better than the nasal stuff. Let's look at these words (which, I found out, were NOT written by Britney because there's a song above this post that says (written by Britney Spears), so it must be some dynamite song)...
"I need to hear you say / You need me all the way / know If you love me so / Don't let me be the last to know." Good thinking, Britney! I'd hate to be the last one to know who I was having a relationship with, either!
First, I thought this was going to be a cover of "Always the Last to Know," a Del Amitri song from the early '90's, but it's not. It's a good Britney ballad. Maybe on this album she realized everything that was wrong about the slow songs on the last one.

Ok, as it seems you're not about to change your mind on Don't Go Knockin On My Door, I'm going to review that one next.
I quite like it. It's another one of those songs that you play when you're feeling a bit vulnerable as a pick me up. I've always been a sucker for a good "power" song, so you can imagine how relieved I was after the disappointment of BOMT to be three tracks into OIDIA and they've all been good!
Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know is a very nice ballad, but it does tend to lose it's appeal after a while (or at least it did with me.) I very rarely listen to it anymore. But it was one of those songs that you hear for the first time on the album and you just KNOW it's going to be released!
The Joy Of Pepsi is marvellous! Lyrical genius my butt, what do you expect from a commercial song? It's to sell pepsi!!!! I can't help but giggle when I'm singing along with it (probably because I feel stupid singing The Joy Of Pepsi) but it always puts me in a good mood. Class A song!!!!

Ooh, I've always wanted to know what exactly is going on between those locks of blond strands blowing in the bubblegum wind. For this song, I'm going to take the libery of ignoring the tune and vocal patterns. Since this is Britney's own thoughts, and maybe from her own diary 😑, all that should be examined are the words:
"Dear Diary / Today I saw that boy / As he walked by, I thought he smiled at me / And I wonder / Does he know what's in my heart?"
Whoa, whoa, whoa.... Now Britney's kid is not that old, but if she's already thinking her child is walking the streets motherless, and she's a "stranger" on the streets, she's clearly fallen off her rocker.
"Dear Diary / I can't get him off my mind / And it scares me / 'Cause I've never felt this way."
This is a helluva lot to be dramaqueening about as you're passing some cute guy who, if she actually talks to her, will probably never remember her name from five minutes after that until the end of time. I'd say for the girl to relax and maybe worry about important things like getting a job, spending time with familiy, gyrating in front of the mirror, etc....

Nice ending; I'm very impressed she was able to string those words together! Good job, Britney!

Can't Make You Love Me - I actually quite like that song. It's got a good beat to it, and the fact that you rate Dear Diary higher than that one makes me worry!!!
Well, in my review I stated that I decided to do Dear Diary a bit different than the others, since it was written by Britney herself. Therefore, I just went by the words, and I was so proud that there were no grammatical errors that I had to give her a decent rating!
