My Prerogative

I hate to start out this way, but what's with the bad song choices for covers?? I mean, there were a bunch of songs from the '80's that I liked, and I Love Rock and Roll and My Prerogative were way, way, way down on that list. Soooo, I have no choice but to start off the review with an automatic 5-point deduction.

I think I did spot K-Fed in the video. If the guy Britney's making out with is K-Fed, then I spotted him.

To sum up, this song sucks, no matter if Bobby Brown's singing it, Britney's singing it, or I'm burping it after a pint at the pub. I mean, Every Little Step, Roni, and Don't Be Cruel, three other Bobby Brown songs, are miles ahead of this one. 😕

Spoilsport. You didn't even say who's version was better.

I think the song was a good choice primarily for the period she released it in.
She'd just gone public with the news of her marrying K-Fed and the media had gone wild with their own pathetic speculation. She's right, she doesn't need permission to make her own decisions, and the world does have the completely wrong picture of her.
The world owns Britney Spears, the package, not Britney herself.
UP GIRL POWER!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

I know what the song's about, but it brings back painful memories of nausea and almost puking all over my parents every time it would come on the radio. It made me so sick, I tell ya, I can't fathom hearing that awful tune anymore. Please make it stop!!!!

p.s. Britney's version was better because I only heard a portion of the song.

HAHAHA! Ok, you're forgiven!

Do Somethin'

I'll tell you want I'm going to do with the crowd goes "Waooooo." I'm going to the lavatory. This doesn't really sound like a "greatest hit." From 2 of the 3 songs, it seems like while on the way to her yoga class, Britney stopped by the studio to record a few songs in a couple of hours.

At least she says "BOM BOM" or "BUM BUM" or something to that effect, but if that's not scandalous enough, isn't there some controversy at the end of this song where she might have used a non-preteen-approved word?

Good news for "Do Somethin'," however...it's in first place!

Man, I am SO impressed by that mature and intelligent input into this thread. Welcome aboard! I really look forward to your future inputs!

I've Just Begun

This title sounds like it would fit well on a rap comeback song. You know, when the rapper announces to the whole world that even though 99% of the world doesn't know about him and doesn't care, he's BACK and only just BEGUN!

Anyway, I agree that this song should have been the one that was released (how they made 2 videos for the other ones is beyond me). The bass rhythm is good and it seems Britney's gone back to the computerized voiceovers, which I have stated was one of her strong points of her earlier years.

Only problem I have with the song...Britney claims that she "wants to shop around...I've only just begun." That statement, in itself, is the last thing a man would ever want to hear on a weekend shopping excursion with his woman!! A man's time is already precious enough!

I thought the song was more entertaining given the fact that she'd just got married!
I'm a big fan of this song. It's a feel good song and Britney sings it well. It was also MUCH better than Do Somethin. But then, this was the only one out of the three that she had a hand in writing. Reckon that's why Jive didn't release it as a single..............

Ok, That was quick and the results are in:

My Prerogative: Greatest Hits era has been reviewed at:

Botankus: 60%
Britrogue: 76%

With that, we move on into the slightly scary world of "We Don't know What This Era Is Called" era....................

For arguments sake, we'll call this era The Original Doll, as that has been the most popular rumour.
Britney has a contract with Jive to release an album every year. The first leaked song in this era was leaked onto the radio by Britney herself. It was a demo version of one of the songs she was working on for her 2005 album. Jive apparently had a severe paddy over it and allegedly punished Britters by postponing the release of her new album, then rumoured to be "The Original Doll".
Of course, Brit then fell pregnant and was unable to promote a new album. This was why B In The Mix was released................

Mona Lisa (Demo Version) - Co-written by Britney Spears

(Leaked by Britney on to Kiss FM in early 2005)

Chaotic

(Used as the theme tune for Britney And Kevin: Chaotic and was released onto a bonus disc that came with the DVD release of the series)

Mona Lisa (Final Version) - Co-written by Britney Spears

Over To You Now - Co-written by Britney Spears

(Released on the Chaotic Bonus Disc)

Someday (I Will Understand) - Written by Britney Spears

http://rapidshare.de/files/15003008/someday_clip.wma

(Written by Britney for her unborn baby. Released on the Chaotic Bonus Disc, but eventually wasn't officially released as a single as Britney felt it would be inappropriate to make money out of a song she wrote for her baby. Bless her, she was hormonal at the time...)

And Then We Kiss - Co written by Britney Spears
http://rapidshare.de/files/15003040/and_then_we_kiss_clip.wma

(The only new song released on B In The Mix. The rest were remixes of her greatest hits. YAWN..........................)

Unknown unreleased track

(Leaked about three months ago onto the Internet, nobody knows where this song came from, or when it was made. It's a demo clip, popularly known as "Get It"😉

😂 Oh, Gilly, that whole paragraph is a riot! Way to put things into perspective. 😂

Yeah, sorry, that sucked.....................

I meant it was funny.

So, is Britney wearing Madonna's hand-me-down outfit in "Someday (I will be there)?"

Someday (I Will Understand). I don't know. Maybe. She gets everything else............

In that "Someday (I will Understand)" video, is she rubbing her pregnant belly? If so, is she speaking to Kevin or the baby? 😑

She's singing to her baby. I think it's really sweet. And coming from the most non-maternal woman on the face of this planet, that's quite a recommendation.
