That one line says enough
except that it's one of his most famous and you hear people talking about that one line alone.
50 is a business man, building his business. You cant hate on him for that. he addresses all the haters in his new song Windowshopper, too, from the Get Rich Die Tryin soundtrack.

It is fairly obvious why everyone is talking about it!😂
I would hardly call rapping with "his b****s" dancing around him a business!
Where is the talent?

I don't believe a rap artist can be judged by one simple line taken out of context, thought I would note that. Although, thats still not saying 50 is any good. He hardly ever actually raps in his music and when he does its completely laughable, Fiddy is better suited for R&B the way he's headed.

In every G-Unit song he has to sing in the chorus. Kinda gay if you ask me

naw dont get me wrong, there used to be great mainstream rappers. the only one i like out right now is kanye west, he just sounds like an idiot whenever hes in an interview. 😂
I think he's a very good producer, but apart from Through The Wire and a couple of other things, I don't really like his rhymes. He's kinda dull.
I'd say Nas and Common are more or less mainstream now, they're both excellent.

you gotta be honest though man--rap wasnt NEARLY as popular in the late 80s/early 90s as it is now. Yeah, it was on mtv (sometimes), but alternative and grunge was the mainstream sound then, whereas rap is the mainstream sound now.
and while i would agree that mainstream rap sucked a few years ago, there are too many great producers out there now to say it sucks. Pete Rock, Timbo, Premier, Pharell, Dre--each of them have done tracks for "mainstream" artists getting "mainstream" radio play.
when 50 was doing mixtapes people were lovin not hating. When he first got on with Em/Dre, people werent hating either. But now that he's dropped two platinum albums and making a movie, people are hating.
just cause it's popular doesnt make it bad.

It didn't attract the attention of the general public until the early 80's so obviously it wasn't as popular as it is now. The industry had definitely hit a healthy mainstream in the 90's and the talent that led for the most part were extremely much more skilled than today's mainstream.

Amen.
I don't hate him though, thats something different. The way I feel in short is I really really dislike both him and his music to high degree.

A few platinum albums and a movie does not prove your point though, after all Will Smith has also gone platinum a few times and has had many films but that doesn't mean he's an amazin rapper now does it?
Being popular doesn't make it bad, your right. But 50 just happens to be both popular and incredibly bad.

We could have the most astonishing beats in the entire universe, but that would not necessarily mean the mainstream rappers of today are equally on par with them. If a rapper really has raw talent and skills then he can rap over a terrible beat and still make it at least decent. With a great beat you might be able to mask how wack the person flowing to it is, but: You can coat metal in gold but that it don't make it real gold.
