There is quite a debate over here at the moment concerning drugs like ecstasy. One of the drug campaigners went to a rave, and so all the media is all over her for being controversial and shit, making comments like its safer to be at a rave with ecstasy than at a pub/nightclub with alcohol. The anti drug lot are apparently full of themselves and totally ignorant in this argument, they are pulling out rubbish to support their claims that it should stay illegal because of the consequences and so on, yet they are too stubborn to attend a rave themselves to see what the circumstances are that people are taking them.
The drug campaigner is also trying to make drug testing kits available for those who do take drugs, while the other side are arguing that such a suggestion is irresponsible 😬 Its funny to see them ignore a request for education and safety in the situation when people would use drugs, but they are all for increasing sex education in schools 😬
If they are made legal, its no different than now, except at least people will be able to buy legit stuff and the government can monitor the drugs and send out appropriate education about it. What harm would come from making it legal, only those who want to take them will take them anyway, same as now. Tobacco and alcohol are legal, and not everyone uses those, why is the government so afraid of legalizing drugs ffs.
Its been pissing me off the last few days because they continually target rave scenes as being heavy drug scenes and there are plenty of people who dont take drugs at raves, and the one time someone actually goes in to see what its about they get negative responses.
