Thrice is not punk.. But punk reall y can't be classified as punk. If you play some music that you like...and people call it punk, than it's punk...but punk can't relly be classified, and it shouldn't. DOn't forget the other great bands....New york Dolls, Iggy and the Stooges...The velvet undergroud....the pixies played some pretty cool stuff...the kinks...or the new stuff like bad religion,Bouncing Souls, Rancid....
My favorite album by them is Author...........and one of their best songs are Victoria...........Odd that Onwe man arm'ys better songs is one called Victoria.........................................The kinks are a great hippieish........punkish..............band from the 60s......check them out...........their a good change........about as slow as I get.......rank up there with the pixies
punk is an attitude, not a genre of music. The genre started as rock and roll and then was classified as punk because of the attitude the listeners and musicians were all about. I feel their is no set way on how punk is classified.
Sex Pistols are punk.
Thrice is punk.
Nirvana is punk.
and so is Bauhaus.
Right........but i's.........as being an attitude........its a way to look at life. Ya, we agree on one thing.....it isn't a genre of music.....It's a life style....not wearing vlack and chains...........but saying **** you to the world........or values..........or constraints..............I feel that Hippies a form of "punk", they say **** you to greed and hate..........which all people harbour..........but all should do ahat ya feel.....nothin else.........study teater................there are so many ties.........
oh come on there's punk the lifestyle and then there's punk the genre. Hippies are hippies, punks are punks. Hippies aren't a type of punk. Punk isn't what you described it as, because if it was then bands like Good Charlotte could be considered punk.
And don't try to put Nirvana into a genre... It's physically impossible 😖
