Good bands are the ones that start out like that.

most bands start out like that. They work to get to where they are. And if they become famous in the process, and mainstream, and make money, then I think that's great. Everyone's goal is to make money, and why not do it while doing something that you love?

I finally agree with you! I hate them bands that say 'oh we are in it to make the music, money isnt a big deal.' But the seam to have loads of it. They also turn out to be arses

I agree. They were made to make money for Malcolm McLaren, that's true. But that's not why they played punk. They played punk because they loved it, and they hated authority. That's what punk is all about. They were created, yes, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are influential and great.

I have never really Liked Iggy Pop, but maybe they deserve another chance. I don't know.

come on, you all bought into the Sex Pistols hype. that WAS the image--the rebellion...they weren't any more rebellious than, say, Black Sabbath. Nothing new except bad musicianship and selling clothing
