As for the meteor landing on the shield....well in Ocarina of time, those flaming boulders that fall on death mountain can be blocked by lil 10 year old Link by merely ducking while the shield is on his back. No where in the video game does Link drop his shield and no where does he get hurt for blocking an attack with the shield (unless bull rushed by a huge end of level boss). If we are playing by game dynamics and you can send a huge crushing meteor down to earth...then i'll play by Link's game dynamics and just block it with the shield or who's to say that Link woulnd't just stand right next to Seph when he casts the spell? This isn't turn based RPG land...this is a fight so u don't get that 20 ft between u and your opponent...cast meteor all you want because if it hits Link, then it's hitting Seph too. Or is this some unbelievable fight where Seph just vanishes when the meteor shows up and reappears when the spell is done being cast?Please realize that it's no flaw in your logic...because your logic (and mortis's) are very sound, more so than mine. It's just that i'm much too narrow minded to let this arguement go without a fight.
*sighs* well if u think about it we are talking about a video game so OF COURSE he is not gonna drop the shield BECAUSE these games arent based on reality IF YOU HAVNT NOTICED! but i have to disagree about the shield taking the full blow and ryugens arm taking the full blow the shield will just about take half of the blow ( because it is A SHIELD and if we are talking real life here then its "magical" properties are gone and so instead of link taking the full blow or the shield links WHOLE body will take half of the blow also. and may i add that if you swing a BASEBALL BAT at full streingth ( a baseball bat is about the weight of the mesume ) you are NOT exhousted after like 3 swings like u r saying and considering sephiroths ENOURMOUS streinght it is gonna take LONG time for him to get tired
OMG no way are you going to compare an 5-8 ft long sword with the weight of a damn baseball bat. Not a chance...mystical blade or not, metal is metal. And don't lay that bull crap arguement about japanese folded metal. A damn saurai sword like the one Crono's holding is 3-4x as heavy as some slutty baseball bat, and it's no masamune. This is a katana not a fencing sword.
I was using physics...yes physics to explain that if Link had a smaller shield, each block would hurt more because the pressure exerted by each swing from Sephiroth would be concentrated into a smaller area. Hence why i said the Mirror Shield (a full body shield) would hurt a lot less when blocking an attack. And to bust out more physics, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Thus meaning that for all the downward (or sideways) force that Seph exerts into each swing, Link n his shield exert an equally great resistance. I never said anything about Seph exhausting himself in 3 swings, and i most certainly hope you aren't under the impression Link would be tired from blocking three swings. But if you wanna experiment...go outside with a baseball bat, and hit a tree 7-8 times, as hard and as fast as you can...i'm sure you'll feel a bit fatigued. Remember, all Link has to do is deflect 1 blow and counter...not sit there and try to wear Seph down by taking abuse.

THANK YOU! EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO SAY LINKALICIOUS! The only flaw in Lord Ryugen's statement about no sequels to the Legend of Zelda series is that all the games link to another, just not in release dates, but in the in - game timeline, all games are linked, therefore, they all sequel the first Zelda. The only flaw in Linkalicious's statement above is that in a Link to the Past, link is also a child, but look at what he did as a child everyone......

well, i'll have to say that: if there ever were a game with this two on it (regardless of which company makes it: nintendo or square), link will surely win, he is the good guy and the goodie goodie can't die...
but if you were able to choose which one to play with, then, it will be up to you.
if we're talkiing about realism, of course sephirot will kick the sh!t out of link, he doesn't stand a chance

you people have no idea of sephiroths true power lol. this thread's gonna go on and on lol (gives me something to do anyway 😛 ). about sephiroths sword, it does not stated what the sword is made of, therefore it could weigh next to nothing or a few hundred lbs, and if seph couldnt lift it up and swing it then why does he do just that?
