that's crazy...the matrix movies have the best effects.
Yeah, reloaded had its "that's a little fake" moments, but what movie doesnt have that. Matrix blows any competition away...look at revolutions. not once during the zion war did i think about animation, it looked as real as it could to me (that, and they spent $40 mill on it. 😉) even if it didn't win, it should have got an nomination.
Forever damn the Oscars (choices) 😈
Mook> Ah, don't tell me you didn't notice some "fake moments" with RotK and TTT?
Gollum is a great piece of special-effects animation done there, indeed, Sifer. That's not the point. I won'r argue the special effects for RotK aren't mind-blowing. It's the fact that Reloaded/Revo aren't even nominated that seems a little strange to me.

Reloaded wasn't nominated because they only submitted Revolutions, due to the fact that they could compete w/ each other.

Ok... I'm not a Matrix fan... actually... I hated the last 2 films... BUT I CAN'T BELIEVE It didn't got a nomination! It was the only movie that could have been there with ROTK... 😕 I think it's because the critics hated it and gave it bad revies... 😕 but it should have been there!
Well, RotK got bad reviews in my city's newspaper and got 1 1/2 stars.
Okay, so Warner only submitted Revolutions. That still had mind-blowing special effects.
This is about a nomination for SPECIAL EFFECTS alone – not for best movie. T3 was a crappy movie – I’m yet to meet ANYONE who liked it. But it had nice special effects.
Some critics and people didn’t like Revolutions either. It still had WAY better special effects than T3 (aside from being a WAY better movie, too).
I dunno. Is there any "message" in Revolutions that would offend the Oscar Nomination Board?
A message in the Matrix which the board doesn't like? Of course there is:
Subliminal Message*You are all under control, go back to sleep*Subliminal Message
But if you still wonder why it never got nominated then here is ANOTHER reason:
Revolutions: 250,000 Sentinals that all look identical. However many APU's (forget the number) all battling in an enclosed environment completely CG.
RotK: 250,000 enemies of various sizes, shapes, type. But individuality was spurred into each of these. Add this to the hand-cam footage and integration of the effects into the "massive" (get it? 😉), mostly real environment and at the same time looking completely genuine.
Buuuuut, you're gonna find another excuse to moan, so its pointless to try and explain why to some of you 🙂
