She smiled, glad to hear Ewan wasn't mad at her. She still had the burden of the feelings between the King and herself.

Thay stared at the two and smiled. "good luck Ewan. Now lets go to the palace."

"Are you... are you angry with me? Because I'll stay..I'll try to stay out of the way if you have feelings for her.." Ewan didn't like saying it, but he felt he had no choice. Thay was, after all, the king.

She didn't know what to think. She was torn between the two. She wondered if Chanelle was really done with him. She needed to talk to Thay about this, but had no idea how to put it into words. She began to swim back to the palace with them.

She looked at Ewan shocked. "You'll stop liking me because the king ordered you too?" She was a little disgusted.

Ewan saw Lila next to them, and slowly put his arm over her shoulders.

Ewan: "I cant order you two stop caring about someone. I could ave you killed, I could magiaclly remove your feelings for her, but that would compromise my Kingship and our friendship... adn my love for Lila." "But Lila, I love you."

"No, I didn't mean that at all. What I meant was that I would try not to interfere if you two.." he choked on his words. "fell in love.." He paused and added: "I will always have feelings for you, even if we don't end up together."

((note that Ewan is a lot like Sam from Lord of the Rings not the way he looks but his personality))

As she waited for his answer Thay spoke and she turned to him. "What?"

"No, of course I wouldn't."

((his voice is also a little like Sam's only lower))

She looked down. "I'm sorry, but I really need to think about this." She said quietly. She looked up to see if either of the two were angry about giving her time to think.

Ewan was quite surprised at the king's words. "I.. I love you, too, Lila.. But I only want what's best for you. If you like him..."

Ewan nodded twice and looked at the sandy ocean floor. He understood completely.

"Lila take all the time you need, but I'd be more comfrotable if you stayed in the palace."

She looked at Ewan. "But I don't. I mean I do.. but I..." She looked from him to King Thay. "I like both of you. I can't choose right now."

King Roogna tried not use his empathic powers to influence Lila, since he wasnt that kind of person. He knew it wouldnt be realif he did that. He swam with Lila and Ewan to the palace.

She looked up at Thay. "I will stay in your palace only if Ewan can. You have many rooms, m'lord. His doesn't have to be near mine, but I would appreciate it your generosity also takes him into consideration. He may be your competition, but he is also a good man, he deserves no less." She noticed this was a very big step for her. No mermaid or mermen told the king what to do.
