Yeah that was rather underwhelming considering it was supposed to be a clash of titans so to speak.

Hashirama could deflect Biju Balls with wood....I guess.

Kabuto should only need the stuff from the curse mark. Not sure if Anko's actual chakra would suffice.

Confession time: I think Wood jutsu is unbelievably lame. Its ****ing wood. No ninja should be inconvenienced by it all. Just punch through that shit you pussies. At least make it stone. Thats a bit more credible substance.

Well, any kekkei genkai jutsu seems to be stronger than even normal elemental releases, regardless of base material.

And he does make so *much*. I blame it on wood being a reflection of incredibly strong life force.

It wouldn't grind my gears so much if people didn't wank it so much in-story. Everyones trying to copy it and when people see it they're like 'OMG, the most haxxed kekkei genkai EVAR!'

Whenever I see it I just think 'What are you going to do, hit them with some branches?' Madara blocked a greatsword with his bare ****ing arm, you think a tree's going to faze him? Wood jutsu's never done anything that makes it that impressive. They just spam a bunch of easily dodged wood-snakes that probably wouldn't even do much if it hit.

Even Yamato's wood was able to temporarily restrain 4-tails Kyuubi/Naruto.

Well, Yamato was able to put up that wood barrier thing when Naruto Biju Balled it up against Oro. That protected him. So, apparently, it can withstand "nuclear blast" levels of wind and debris. That's some pretty effin' strong shit.

So I'm okay with Wood being "uber" like it is. I just don't like the term "wood" being used so much because "wood" doesn't mean what it used to. So I will still vote that the ultimate KG NOT be wood but something else.

Hell...lava is pretty damn awesome. It can be used as a barrier, to burn shit, to weigh down shit...

Just think of a lava tsunami: heavier than sand, more destructive than sand...etc. But water...or wind...might cool it off?

Though I agree that if its going to be that strong it isn't really wood anymore. At least sand made some sense in that Gaara was packing it really dense and holding it together himself, hence the durability. Wood is just... wood.

It shouldn't really give any A+ ninja anything more than a splinter (hyuk hyuk).

And to be honest, Yamato's wood isn't very hax, aside from having biju suppression. It's nice, but so are most KG.

Really, what's truly hax is Hashirama's chakra and the two tend to go hand in hand. If someone else independently had wood-KG genetics, they'd probably be only moderately strong.

He sure is. Vaporizing that much earth makes him between 5-50 kilotons. 🙂

Don't pay too much attention to the amateur OBD calculations. It seems like every other feat they "calc" is either waaaaaay off or not something that can be calculated based on the available information.
