No, they are going to revive someone or something. It has to do with people that are dead, from the past, that have all the answers.

It could also be something related to Tobi.

I was thinking it was the revival of the Great Sage. Remember, that document said it would turn the tide of the war in Sasuke's favor: Suigetsu said that. We originally thought it was Madara but that was dispelled the chapter before last. So it must have something to do with something even greater than Madara. Has to be the Sage.

Why the great sage? He doesn't know all the shit that transpired after his death.

I'm thinking either Danzō or Hizuren. Danzō because he lead the ANBU and knew a shit-load, and Hizuren because I really want to see Hizuren come back and hand Madara his ass. That would be awesome.

Highly doubt it is the Sage of the Six Paths. It's more likely to be the Older son than it is likely to be the Sage.
Related to Tobi is possible though.

Or, pfft, his parents? He wants to meet a "them", flashes back to Itachi saying that he could have changed their minds, and wants to know what began everything. I don't see much indication that he is planning to go back to ancient times to find the answer.

So either the man who knows the answer means his father or that's something else. Who knows.

lol, juugo needs to find a real purpose in life rather than being a stoic plot device that just fallows the will of some dead lackey. if you think about it, with orochimaru standing there, wtf is his life goal? it just dissipates revealing the blank slate he is, kinda like sasuke's "tell me how to feel' issue

Hokages died though, Oro isn't dead, plus he has the ultimate genjutsu counter that sharingan, and most important he is Sasuke.

There's tons of reasons to talk to the brothers, as far as Sasuke and Orochimaru are concerned.

Does Sasuke even know the story? I can't recall him ever learning it. Unless it was written on the scroll....

The scroll is not as awesome as the coffin as far as plot devices go. :T

He knew Tobi wasn't Madara before he reunited with Suigetsu & Juugo, and the Sage's story is on the tablet. Granted, he would not have been able to read everything about the Sage.

If any of it. The only thing we know he read on the tablet concerned the MS controlling the Kyuubi.

Man, looking back on it...the coffin was a great move on Kishi's part.

It really was very clever. I salute that plot-twist both in terms of apprehension and execution.

And probably more stuff related to Madara/MS. Some bits & pieces of the Sage's story would be readable as well.

Indeed. Probably everything that has come about due to that Coffin has been great, and we have Kabuto to thank for it.

Sasuke retrieval arc compared to the Soul Society arc? Are you out of your mind?!

How does Sasuke's tantrum compare to the emotional struggle of Byakuya who was forced to choose between the promise he made to his deceased wife to protect Rukia, and the promise he made at his father's grave to always uphold justice? And Byakuya took that like a man, not once -- before Aizen's scheme was revealed -- did he as much as blink in hesitation. And that's not accounting for that each captain had their own agenda, some of which didn't even concern the invasion.

Well said. That Bleach Arc was some of the most entertaining manga I have read. Good times. Makes me almost tearfully nostalgic. 🙁
