It was successful initially...but later came back to bite him. The sole person left alive from the massacre would eventually be the one to end him.

Not a very good or positive success but one all the same.

Come to think of it, most Naruto characters I like are dead: Danzō, Hiruzen, Itachi, Jiraiya, Nagato, and Sasori. If it wasn't for Orochimaru being alive then all of them would be dead. Well, I suppose B is pretty chill.

Well, all of those characters were among the few cool characters in the series, so I get where you come from.

...Except Itachi.

It still got him killed. Danzo tends to focus solely on the short term and never considers how things will affect him in the long run. Like an idiot.

Not much. Still got killed by an Uchiha because of it, and due to him requesting Itachi to do it, he inadvertently started Sasuke on his path of revenge.

Looking back, Root is filled with disloyal bastards. Like Sai, Orochimaru, Kabuto, Nono. Even when he was killed, the noncaptured Roots guys were basically just "Huh, how about that."

Killing emotions just doesn't inspire fervent loyalty I guess.

I know he is a real guy. I just meant that he was already dead, and naruto was speaking to him in the biijuu subconscious. A place where Tobi couldn't enter.

Indeed. The comment wasn't if you don't consider him a real guy, it was if you don't consider him the "real Mizukage" since, well, in many ways he wasn't. It was poorly constructed, my bad.

To be fair, his lightning cutter does take a lot of chakra to maintain. So does any MS techs he uses. Even more so than usual since he's not an Uchiha. I'd say his chakra stores aren't that bad considering the attacks he uses.

Well, in Sai's case, you just can't ever fully get on the side of a guy that made you kill the person closest to you. And he did even get an MS for his troubles. lol

I think Itachi is a cool character. Seems like a huge jerk until you learn he actually was doing bad things for a good cause. It's his ridiculous amount of hax abilities that is lame. But, that's an Uchiha for you.

I read all of those things at different times.

I was quite happy in Part 1 when Sasuke tried to kill Itachi, to which Itachi responded with something along the lines of

'***** please', and then snapped his wrist.
