Personally I don't have an issue with the retcon, it needed to happen, it makes sense of the weak introduction, and while it may be a bit of a "weak" explanation it's not one that's really contradicted by anything I can think of.... To be honest it also makes some sense of the ninja war nonsense that went down the way it did in some cases if I choose to believe Kabuto used the weaker version for some of his characters... which I do... lol

I didn't. One thing that Kishimoto does better than most other big name mangakas is continuity. He is great at not writing in plotholes. Now we have full-powered ET bodies that fought Hiruzen that were not revived at full power in the past or present but revived at almost full-power currently and was at a higher level than in the past despite the past supposedly being full power.

If that doesn't make sense, it is not supposed to: that's the point of a PIS.

By 'we' I meant most of us, and by 'this' I meant Hashirama being >>>> Hiruzen, which we knew would be the case when we saw what Madara could do with Mokuton, and his various comments about the magnitude of Hashirama's abilities.

And where was it confirmed during the Orochimaru-Hiruzen fight that the ET Hokages were at full strength?

Hiruzen makes some off handed comment about the first's strength not having waned one bit. But honestly, you could chalk that up to either a) Hiruzen was old and confused b) His comparison was misjudged being that he himself was much weaker at the time of the fight c) His perspective is skewed because he never actually had either of them attack him with anything even remotely near full strength. d) He was just giving a less than deserving compliment (Which seems like standard naruto fare) or a combination of the previously mentioned four things.

I find it weird to say Kishi is cool with continuity just when he enacts a retcon.

All of that speculation could be true. The lack of detail about the way both him and Hash went out has always been a let down for me. Hopefully we'll get the deets on those situations soon enough. And yeah, I could only *hope* those were 20 Kakashi level guys or circumstances involved. No one who looks as badass as Tobes should go out like a punk!

Yeah, we also don't know what Tobirama's balls looked like. I'm hoping we get the deets on Tobe's beets.

Yeah, he was still a child when those two trained him and were at the height of their strength. So I'd go with C).

I want to see Prime Sarutobi.

Missed this for some reason.

Including Tobirama, there were 6 more ninja who were likely all Jounin-level, such as Hiruzen, who became the Hokage the very next day. Even then all 7 of them knew they couldn't win against those 20 dudes.

Then again, Tobirama lost to the Silver-Gold bros.

LoL wha? Isn't that from Tobirama's death?

Si.

Lol, yeah.

Weekly Manga Recap Guys: "The Sharingan being powered by love ruins the series."

No joke. Made me lol.

True that.

A mental disorder. That's basically what the Uchiha suffer from. They don't seem to get that. They also don't seem to understand that "All of the Uchiha turn evil when they lose someone" is directly contradicted via Itachi.

Itachi is Jesus Christ though.

Too much power for Kishimoto to make sense of.

Itachi is an anomaly.

the guy apparently had the wisdom of a kage before he had pubes.

he's that one in ten thousand ninja.

Not that I'm defending Weekly Manga Recap Guy, who is a tool, but it seems like Sasuke would have been the breaking point for Itachi. We all know what Itachi threatened to do if Sasuke had died under Hiruzen's watch.

Shisui wasn't consumed by hatred despite having the Mangekyou Sharingan, so he's there as well.

Shisui is rather noble.
