Boring chapter. I'd really just like to see some more of the Madara vs Hashirama fight.

I disagree, completely. I enjoyed this chapter. It was necessary. I have been wanting to see the whole Hashirama vs. Madara fight, for a while. I wanted the story fleshed out on how Hashirama and Madara calmed down the Shinobi world a bit. It was savage and Kishi is showing us why it was such a savage time. Sure, same things happen (children being killed left and right) but it happens far less, apparently.

Naruto is this generation's Hashirama. That's what is being shown to us.

Also, I did laugh at Hashirama picking on Madara. Hashirama is quickly becoming one of my faves. 😄

THANK YOU! I don't know why everyone's being such a prick about this chapter.

Naruto and Sasuke are practically reincarnations of Mads and Hash. We need to see how they're friendship fell apart to understand what Sas and Naruto need to do to redeem theirs. Or at the very least, what pitfalls need to be avoided.

And quite frankly, I liked the interactions in this chapter. It was hilarious how trolly Hashirama was. He was even worse than Madara currently IS. Also interesting to see the ninja world that proceeded the villages and Hashirama's and Tobi's childhood's being quite a bit less than.... good.

I agree. It's a necessary chapter.

Because it's boring as shit. There, I've explained it.

If every chapter is full of action, then it reads less good as a unit. You need the slow mixed with the fast in a good story.

^ valid point.

problem is, this particular slow portion is uninteresting.

The chapter where they hokages were talking to Sasuke and crew wasn't action packed, but it was very compelling. This latest chapter is just plain ol' boring.

Hopefully it'll become more interesting.

Jiraiya and Oro were also, and Naruto and Sasuke have much more in common with them than with Madara and Hashirama.

With the exception of Konoha, most villages have been depicted as being less than good until this moment in time, and Sand Village when Gaara took over. Specially the Cloud Village.

It's an okay chapter i suppose, I like how Hashirama is, but I could do without it also.

Necessary in that it showed us what the ninja world was like before Hashirama came along (which quite frankly, didn't seem to be that different from what we saw in the Gaiden), but Kishi should not have wasted the bulk of a chapter on it. The Madara-Hashirama portions were better, though I still don't like the fact that Hashirama wantonly decided to flashback from his flashback fight with Madara to his childhood meetings with Madara.

We really need a flashback explaining how it got so bad. Preferably during this flashback.

A flashback inside another flashback to explain why kunai cut is in order!

I hate how Kishi does that. How he keeps on recycling those same two ****ing characters to draw some shitty, hamfisted parallel between the NaruSasu buttsex situation, and whatever other shitty broken friendship Kishi wants to drive down our throats. Not even necessarily a broken friendship, just a homoerotic bond between two guys in general.

Nah,

Hash and Mad's first interactions were pretty funny.
Seeing the pre-village world was interesting if nothing else.
And it was nice to see Madara start off as the optimistic one.

We knew, or should've known this chapter was coming eventually.

People are just being pricks. It's at the least far better than that Kabuto bullshit.

True, but Sas and Naruto are mirrors even on the genetic level.

The villages were a bit of a failed experiment from the moment that Hash and Mads fought at the Valley from all accounts.

As far as Hash goes, I think it's important to understand where he came from to give his answer to Sasuke any credit on his opinion.

Again, we need to know where these characters came from to grasp a better understanding of why it's tragic that their relationship fell apart, how it fell apart, and what Hashirama pulled away from it to answer Sasuke's question.

I don't presume to know how the story will go overall but if Sasuke changes his viewpoint because of what the first is telling him... well... we kind of need to know why.

People disliked the Kabuto bullshit too.

Maybe, and this is a stretch.

But maybe, people just don't like boring bullshit. If by prick you mean, "people who don't like boring bullshit", then yeah, you're probably right.

You have boring bullshit confused with necessary plot lines. If you don't give a damn about the story go read Bleach. lol

why do you think "necessary plot lines" can't be boring?
