After Hashirama who do you have as the 2nd strongest Hokage?

Minato.

Kishimoto won't have him second to Hiruzen or Tobi. Its just impossible. Shit I wouldn't be surprised if Minato comes off looking better(somehow) than Hashi when all is said and done.

The manga implies that Tobirama is the second strongest, tbh.

I'd like that to be the case.

Tobi is pretty cool.

The manga implies that shinobi from the warring clans era are just at a whole new level of monster compared to even shinobi like Minato. Sure Minato and Hiruzen may perhaps comparatively more talent but they don't have the experience. And Tobirama is a veritable genius in his own right for the invention of the Edo Tensei.

I was letdown by Naruto's lack of surprise to Minato's appearance. It is like he gets to see Minato every single day. Then again Kishi might have been lazy and will expand on that next chapter.

Can't wait.

Aside from the big two, I really don't get that impression.

well that's probably because it has yet to seriously show Hashirama and Tobirama fight at full strength, but now we will be seeing how they do things in this fight. as for Minato... I think he was called the most powerful shinobi Konoha has ever produced and Hashirama and his bro were one of the few who founded Konoha, having come from somewhere else entirely, so they may have been included in that statement. so Minato is probably the 3rd strongest hokage after those two.

Lmao, when I saw Minato's kunai it made the whole chapter worth it. Prior to that it wasn't too amazing.

You mean other than the constant warring and battles that would require better skills and reactions as a combatant?
While I highly doubt most average ninja from that era are comparable to or better than Minato, on average, those ninja are going to be more powerful than the current era average ninja, and Tobirama is not an average ninja.

They are both sensors.

Tobi's argument and Kakashi's '***k your bullshit* was nice. We both know Kakashi's gonna kick some ass now, even if he should logically be getting his shit pushed in.

I understand Naruto might sense him similar to how Madara jizzed over Hashirama's chakra. Kishimoto should've at least given us a similar panel? (Now watch as it is mentioned he sensed him off-panel next chapter) I still felt it was kind of odd how Naruto is all 'Hey cool. Dad is back kicking ass. Sup, dawg? ' Playin' it cool and all. Naruto has either grown up or is so fkn tired he can't really register what is happening anymore.

Speaking of Tobi...did he just forget he has a Rinnegan for the sake of the plot? Cause he could've just absorbed the raikiri instead of having a huge hole in his chest.

Tobi just wanted Kakashi to fill his hole.

...

what?

Yeah, but I'm glad Kishi didn't. He wastes enough panels as it is.

Ever since he lost the paths, he's forgotten about his Rinnegan. Prolly why he solely used Kamui when he was taking on Bee, Gai, Kakashi & Naruto.

You mean Kakashi wants to fill Tobi's hole. He's got a lot of stamina now after all.

True. 👆

I liked Kakashi telling Tobi off like that.

Except the villages still fight a lot (we've still got a full four world wars, an unknown number of smaller wars, plus lotsa smaller missions), and have more resources for training, and more old nin to do the teaching.

The ninja village system of spending years until a ninja is 12 before deploying them, rather than kids, would on average make more skilled ninja on base, IMO.

I mean... I guess the constant war is going to produce some outliers, but the higher casualties are also going to keep things down a bit. Shorter lifetimes have a role.

Right I'm getting that feel too.

the dialogue between Obito and Kakashi was well done.
yeah it was. That said, enough of already. I'm tired of hearing this guy talk.

It was incomparable to what existed before Hashirama created the villages, in that those wars were relatively brief periods of conflict. Madara spent the bulk of his publicly known lifetime in a period of war. The Villages era also had more espionage-esque conflicts that we know of.
"Knowledge gained from experience is more important that the one gained from books"

A higher casualty rate more likely means that the ones who could survive were smart/strong enough to stay alive, and that as a result, would be better equipped for combat than they would be if they lived during the Villages Era.

Same here. Tobi really needs to get laid, or his ass kicked.

As soon as the Kunai appeared I was like, Oh yea the first Hokage to appear in the battle is Minato! And then he's just like all nonchalant in his coolness.
