If it's any consolation to Blax; even a dead Neji is a better character than a live Hinata.

What I would hope happens soon: Obito immediately does his Moons Eye Thing but because the Juubi is incomplete characters with large chakra supplies and decent control are able to fight it off. Naruto, Sasuke, the Edo Kage, Bee and so on. To compensate Obito just has the guys under the genjutsu fight on his side.

Would be cool imo.

Well, we know a heck of a lot of them, but that's because we have, like, every S-class in two generations plus a handful of older ones around.

Also, some of 'em are kinda redundant- i.e. we've got the jinchuuriki and the biju in the jinchuuriki that make 'em that level.

Doesn't mean they don't matter, but it is pretty much the rank where an individual fighter matters in a fight nowadays.

I don't mean that there's too many people in the S-class ranges, what I mean is that continuously adding an additional "S" (S, SS, SSS, etc) dilutes the impact of the rank.

Also I kinda just realized Obito is probably the "best" combination of factors to make a host for the the Juubi. The legend goes that the sons of the Sage inherited his eyes(Uchiha) and body(Senju). Obito currently has both of those things and his body is way more Senju than Madara(at least from what we've seen).

Well here's the thing. Akatsuki is made up of S Rank criminals. Hidan is in Akatsuki. So he is S rank yes?

Now is he on the same level as, say, Hashirama?

i didn't say drop the minus ranks. If Hashi is "S", anyone not on his level, but close, would be "S-"... and so on.

Also, the actual purpose of the ranks is to categorize techniques and danger level of missions... not necessarily the overall power of the ninja.

imo, "Kage" should be the top rank.

Hashi, Madara, Naruto, etc. would be "Kage", everone below can be "S". If you want to be more specific, just rank them numerically within each rank.
