The Limbo clones can be attacked physically, they just cannot be sensed or seen.
On the other hand though, normal non-senjutsu attacks won't damage them, so it's useless either way if you don't got Sage Mode.

They can be attacked, but phyiscal attacks will either go through the clone as if it weren't there (Sasuke's sword went right through the clone), or be blocked by the clone (Sakura's attack, etc).
But Senjutsu/Six Paths chakra based attacks obviously affect the target.
