I never quite bought that Madara was completely in control, him and Pein seemed to have conflicting interests. Now it seems Pein actually is the true leader and Madara is more an associate.
Meanwhile, I think having Nagato be this separate puppet master guy is lame. I mean, why not just let him be Pein? The six bodies was interesting enough, he could have just been the six bodies. And on top of that, Kishi made Nagato so stupid. No. The ninja messiah should not be a sick guy in an exo-suit.

Ya know, I can kind of relate to Pein's emo'ness. If my city was shit on every year fir twenty years and everyone I knew died every time, I'd probably be crazy too. He has a better reason to be an emo then Sawsgay.
But yea its kinda easy to understand Peins motives. A warped sense of what he thinks is right. Unlike the other villains. Really why are Madara and Oro evil? Do they even have any kind of reason or is it just what they are?

Though..I wonder if Madara used a similar line on young Nagato to manipulate him after Yahiko was killed. Or maybe before and Madara killed Yahiko without Nagato knowing it was him to get Nagato to join him because Yahiko was like Naruto.
I actually thought Kishimoto was about to add some neuron power into this. With the chakra signals that Nagato emitted would be more like alternate current as opposed to direct current which ordinary ninjas use. Hence it would be to locate the position as the chakra moves back and forth with incredible frequency.
But no ... He didn't elaborate on that at all. Furthermore nothing happen in this chapter other than Deva Pein trying to use Kishimoto-psychology, which wouldn't even work on small children in real life.
The only good thing about this chapter was that we got to know that Nagato is close and that he's a crip.
