Chapter is out on onemanga..and I do believe she's dead.

Yeah... Pein definitely has a plan for this. He doesn't seem worried in the slightest about having to face down a six-tail Kyuubi.

Yeah I agree. I still dont see Pein losing. Then again the next chapter is called "End" so I wonder what that means..

And, Hinata is like, the queen of rushing in blindly with all the determination in the world, then getting wiped out in like a page. She's done that twice now.

Kudos to her though for at least doing a cool move before dying in such a ballsey way. There are worse ways to get WTFpwned besides losing to possibly the strongest villain in the entire series.

That is possibly the single coolest thing a Konoha female has ever done.

But really as much as I didn't like that death it was a cool way for her to go. At least she was killed attacking instead of just trying to grab Naruto and run away. And confessed all at the same time.

Yeah, her laying it all out there puts her fate in serious, serious doubt. Er...well not so much as doubt as almost certainty she won't make it...

At least Kakashi's issue was going too far with his chakra thing and even lesser character's like Choji have survived "fatal" stipulations by staying on the cusp of death long enough.

Its like Kishi is making up for the lack of heroes deaths in Part 1 compared to villain or no-name deaths in Part 1. First Asuma, then Jiraiya, Kakashi, Shizune, now Hinata. And who knows who else will turn up dead.

Dont forget, Pein also killed Fukasaku and possibly Shima.

Then add all the countless people that died from the Chou Tensai or whatever.

No one in the manga will ever surpass Pein with this many death counts.

Itachi comes close though. Though Kakashi has also probably killed plenty of people. As well as any Jounin. Pein just did it all at once basically. No way to know how many Kakashi or Asuma have killed in their days of being ninja when wars were going on,

Me to. But there really is no reason Pein would spare her.

I'm still hoping Team Gai gets there before the fight is over. Unlike Gai's usual timing.

Though I want to see Nagato's 'defeat' being Naruto changing him. He hasn't done that in Part 2 yet. Part 1 there was the Wave people, Konohamaru sorta, Hinata, Neji, Gaara, Tsunade, Konoha in general. The best ending would not be Naruto winning a fight but Naruto's optimism and will reminding Nagato of Yahiko and doing what its done so many times in Part 1. IMO anyway. Though I wonder if this is ih the final stages or if after Akatsuki there will be more. Though I guess all the loose ends still need to go together. Kage meeting, Killer Bee, Sasuke, who is lying, Kabuto/Oro hybrid.

Here's my take...

Pain wanted to draw out the Nine-Tailed beast for his own collection purposes. He didn't actually kill Hinata, he just wanted to piss Naruto off enough to bring it out.

Itachi also gave Naruto some gift or ability. That ability could be that the nine-tailed beast cannot be drawn out by Pein's beast extraction technique. Based on that guess, that means naruto will be defeated, drug back to the extraction chamber, and not get his beast taken, or something like that.

It could be the uber defeat pain technique, or something. lol

As for the skeleton, that must be how the tails thing works. With each new tail, the kyubi begins to reform. 6 leads to the skeleton of the beast, 7 the muscles, 8 the skin, 9 the fur?

And we never actually see Pein kill Hinata so she could very well just be koed by the Shinrei Tensai or whatever it's called. Wasn't her body also hidden behind rubble from Naruto? Though Hinata really has nothing to contribute at all to the story. Heck she doesn't have anything for her own clan as she's not even next in line to rule it. Hanabi is. So killing he wouldn't really be a loss to anything. Where as Kakashi's death can be seen as Naruto being the next Hokage without having to wait for Kakashi to end his rein after the whole Jiraiya/Tsunade talk about Kakashi being the next Hokage.

I think it's the beginnings of Naruto forming the kyuubi around his body. First is the bones, next'll probably be the muscles or something.
