He has to live up to his God status he put on himself somehow. Loosing to Naruto didn't do it.

The dumb thing though is that he probably could have won. I mean, if you have enough power to raise a city of dead people, you should be able to take on Naruto no prob.

Chiyo has a techinique to raise the dead. Doesn't mean she is all that powerful.

And yea he could have won. He just chose to almost kill Hinata instead.

I meant he could have won inside the tree. I mean, what if he used his resurrect-power to bring back the Pein bodies instead? What if he just controlled Naruto with his Chakra? There were so many options.

He tried to control Naruto once already didn't he? And the pain bodies were destroyed except like what one? But he had plenty of times to beat him before the tree why wait until then. When Naruto came to talk anyway.

My point isn't that he wanted to beat Naruto, but the option was definitely there for him to win if he felt like continuing the fight. I guess you could say he "lost" the fight in the sense that he lost the will to continue fighting, but it wasn't like he was defeated. There were still many ways for him to keep fighting and probably pull the win.

I agree. Naruto would have won that fight. Nagato was low on Chakra (relative to his supply). Nagato was also weakened from his fight for using some of those techniques.

Nagato also could not use his control technique on Naruto as Naruto was too strong...even at "point blank range". Naruto also combined the Demon Foxes Chakra with his Sage form...I don't see how Nagato even stood a chance against Naruto. Not even close. Besides, Nagato said himself that he would have been beat down by Jiraiya had he known his "secret". Naruto was stronger than Jiraiya in sage form.

Low chakra means nothing given the amount he had left. Enough to resurrect a city is enough to resurrect the six paths, and do the fight all over again. And Naruto would have probably lost a second time.

*shrugs* Besides Sasuke showing up I liked it. Nagato putting his trust into Naruto isn't anything new. Everybody that's met Naruto has done it. And now Naruto has Rain, and Sand ties when he becomes Hokage that will last a lifetime.
