I wouldn't have minded Nagato changing if it hadn't been so half-assed. He didn't care what Naruto thought, but having Naruto pull out a book that Nagato had ALREADY READ change his mind was retarded and just showed a lack of effort. For someone as committed as Nagato to give up his conviction so easily just showed how poorly the characters are done here.

naruto managed to beat pein+all his bodies by himself. Before that some of Pein's bodies were killed by the Leaf's soldiers.
So do you think Sasuke is that much stronger then Pein and hsi bodies, that much stronger then Naruto?

As for Nagato, as it was said Nagato didn't even believe his way it was just the only way he saw to do it. And Naruto didn't give into the revenge thing Nagato assumed he was going to. Naruto proved him wrong that no matter how much you hate somebody or what they did it's possible to not give into hate and to kill for revenge.
