I know the databook stats aren't the most popular around here, but going by them her stamina isn't too bad post-timeskip, 2.5. Shikimaru was at 2.0 as-of the retrieval arc.

She lasted pretty long against Sasori, granted, Chiyo was controlling her, but it's still within Sakura's limits.

Still, being a medic-ninja is more than just healing; you gain knowledge of poisons, and you learn how the body works. If you get close, you can try doing what Tsunade did to Kabuto. Besides, you saw how easily one of her poisons took out Naruto, though I'm surprised it didn't activate sooner. Might be Naruto's healing factor.

Perhaps she simply was too much the hands-on type, preferring to handle things up close, or perhaps she's good at molding chakra in some ways but not others.
Orochimaru's quite good at it, so maybe she figured they already had a squad genjutsu specialist so she'd be fine with just genjutsu-breaking levels of skill in the area.

A minor thing I noted, only water and sand brought the same people to back the kage up. Advisors instead of bodyguards.
I can also picture Tsunade and A getting into epic arguments if they were in a situation where they were allowed to let lose.
