I agree.

It's just crappy, rushed, art. If i look at it one way, I can see a type of sharingan in his eyes. From another, it looks spiraled.

You can see a Sharingan >__>?

Meh, I don't think I'd be able to see the Sharingan. It'd be like trying to see a Vase with my mind fixated on the Face, in the 'Rubin Vase' optical illusion.

Crap, Bottom-of-page post:

Triple Post FTW!

No, I think we may have misunderstood the whole concept of the tablet. Here are two scans describing it (the same page, two different translations to see any ambiguities).

http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/467/12/
http://read.mangashare.com/Naruto/chapter-467/page012.html

What the two scans say is that the tablet is "the secrets left to us by the rikudou", and that you can "decode" more of those same secrets if you have eyes, with each eye tier being able to read more.

From this, I think that all of the content is left by the sage, and was there for the reading of those with the rinnegan. However, with other dojutsu, you can approximate the original content with partial readings, but the knowledge will be very incomplete and misleading, kind of like trying to understand a document with every other line missing. Each new eye is closer to the rinnegan in terms of power, so each new eye gives a better reading. But I don't think, upon looking again, that there's actually content that was designed to be read specifically by people with certain eyes.

On the elder brother: the picture of him in general looks very, how can I say this, stylized? Not just his eyes but in general, as if it's like an old japanese-style portrait of him and not the man himself. Anyway, I do think it's an artwork issue, though he definitely has spirals. However I think they may have been drawn as spirals to kind of give it an "old" feel by drawing it similar to the style of classic japanese paintings. IMO the dialogue itself gives no doubt that he had the rinnegan.

Well, more like trying to read a page that has lines of text of differing sizes, with a magnifying glass that can only read the bigger lines. It's the analogy I wanted to use a few posts back, but I thought it would support your point more than mine, so yeah 😛.

Otherwise, your post makes sense. Everything was written by the Sage.

You only get partial knowledge from reading it with the Sharingan/MS, in that, you were correct from the start.

Elder Brother: I suppose. But you agree that the eye patterns look like spirals yes?
As to the dialogue, you have to notice that the word 'Eyes' is presented in quotes, thus, I don't think it means he inherited the Rinnegan itself. The Sage was the first one to have a doujutsu, and the Elder son was the second. The statement could simply refer to that.
You also have to note that the Sage was the Juubi host, and it must have tainted the Rinnegan, which gave rise to the newer doujutsu present in the Elder Brother. This is all assuming the Elder brother is actually the Sage's child.

Naruto Wiki: I think the picture is from there, not sure. I got the picture off Google Images.
As for the wiki itself, there are some morons present on the site, as well as intelligent ones, but I treat it more or less like Wikipedia. Unless there's a proper reference, I treat statements as speculation.

Also, I don't think the Yin half is in the Death God's belly, despite what Jiraiya said in a chapter. Could have been a translation issue.
Because that's the only point that that is ever said and nothing else is talked about that. Not one person is mentioned that did it other than Madara. It doesn't say that they actually achieved it, either. It certainly talks about the violence, but not actual achievement.

Also, it simply isn't true. It's a lie and it didn't happen.

And there is nothing to disprove what Itachi said. At all. Madara even said Susanoo is rare. So if only four people have ever had MS..well five if you count Kakashi... then can't say how rare Susanoo is.

I"m referring to the EMS. I don't disagree that the MS could have been common among the Uchiha, but, I think only a dozen or less ever had it at a time. As far as EMS...well....only two people have ever had that: Madara and now Sasuke.

We can use the boisterous and obviously false story from Itachi (we now know that Itachi was fibbing, quite a bit) or we can use what actual evidence we have. For me, it's hard to accept that dozens of Uchiha got EMS...considering it's supposed to be the ultimate or something silly like that.

Ehh, all we are told is the EMS just removes the blindness factor inherent with the MS, and gives you a new jutsu.
We'll see what it's capable of once Sasuke fights.

Hm, I wonder if some Uchiha get the eyes but can only manage to unlock lesser jutsu and/or just one or two MS jutsu.

All the ones we know are specifically some of the strongest Uchiha, after all.

The only thing that is contradicted in Itachi's story of the Uchiha is Madara saying he didn't take his brothers eyes but that they were given to him willingly. But then again we know Madara was lying about some things like the Fox attack, while nothing Itachi said has been proven a lie. Except wanting to kill Sasuke but that really doesn't discredit the Uchiha story.

No, there's many other things.

1. Whether or not Madara's brother gave his eyes willingly.

2. Itachi's intentions about encouraging Sasuke to come after him.

3. Itachi's intentions about destroying the Uchiha clan.

4. Itachi's desire to take Sasuke's eyes.

5. Itachi wanting Sasuke to become stronger.

6. Itachi's version of Madara's role in destroying the Uchiha clan.

There's probably several more than that that I'm forgetting.

Actually, Madara lied less to Sasuke than Itachi did to Sasuke...from what we can tell, thus far. Also, Itachi lied about "a great many things."

Elder Brother: The eye patterns are without a doubt spirals, but I believe that was just a stylistic choice. Even if it wasn't, it's abilities were probably similar if not identical to rinnegan, perhaps with only the most rudimentary sharingan traits.

I do believe that he had the rinnegan, and just the rinnegan, myself. Too much evidence to support it, nothing really to deny it. Also I noticed it never says that the two brothers are actually the sages children... since he was a monk, he shouldn't have had children in the first place. Even so, it seems like they were given the traits they "inherited" from him.

I think it is. The way Shiki Fujin works is, it takes from both sides into it's belly. The way I see it, the fourth was doing that, but he "subverted" the chakra with the other sealing technique, and got half into Naruto. Shiki Fujin is very awkward for biju containment, and I imagine that was not it's intended use. The methods of the other nations, which seal the totality of the biju and don't require sacrifice, are much better.

Sorta like how mangekyo patterns are all unique?

What part of those were lies.

As for the other lies, not telling Sasuke that he loved him, and not telling Sasuke that the 'beloved' Uchiha clan were about to destroy everything doesn't discredit the Uchiha story. They were to protect him, and to keep him from doing what he's doing now.

Really? Because the only thing about the Uchiha that we can confirm of Madara's was a lie. And Madara has been telling half truths or lies just about every time he appears. To manipulate everybody to doing what he wants.

I don't read the manga anymore as it sucks but I decided to watch the beginning of Shippuden to see if Naruto was worth anything post-timeskip.

I'm glad I did.

YouTube video

Sasori was awesome all on his own but he was made even better by Johnny Yong Bosch. This had to be Bosch's best performance since Vash.

Ewww! Dubs!!(Sorry I couldn't resist)

Wonder what's all this stuff about the Uchiha clan and what-not? Making this more confusing than necessary if I might add. The remaining Uchihas are antagonists for the most part (Itachi less as much) and as such we should learn as we go along.

This is out the blue but I just really want to know something. Did Tsunade just forget to promote Naruto past Genin or what? I mean he should have at least gotten chunin after beating Kakuzu(although Kakashi killed him) or even before then when he beat Gaara because beating Pein is just overkill.

Promotions require taking a test and such, which he's managed to avoid completely due to lack of down time.

He probably could've gotten to genin before the skip, and by the start of shippuden there'd be no problem getting him at *least* to Tokubetsu Jonin if not full jonin (Sakura could probably make tokubetsu jonin at this point too for that matter, but not full).

Naruto just hasn't done the formalities in short.

Sasori is done by Johnny Yong Bosch?...Hmm almost makes it worth watching Shippuden. And in english.

why would you not watch shippuden? every fight thats in it is better than the fight in the manga

I dunno, I stopped watching Naruto after VoTE fight, and just never started watching it again when Shippuden started.

you missed cool extensions

RemR47hvpqY&feature

Yea, I seen that with the Sakura/Chiyo vs Sasori fight and the Pein vs Jiraiya fight. Which are about the only things I've watched of Shippuden. Except the new opening just to see what the new opening showed.
