Not every character with a dark and troubled past is a sue, and vice versa. Naruto could be considered some kind of ****** Purity Sue now though. Mary Sues generally are due to bad writing. 🙂Sure, they CAN be, but when meshed with all of Sasuke's shit it comes off rather Suish, good looking, well-liked and respected by peers, amazingly competent, writer's favorite character, plus all the delicious Wangst.
And also saved t3h day with his uber competence, if I recall right.
Sasuke kinda was a mary sue early part 2, but still he suffered from clinical insecurites and egotism about being second to his brother and was always putting the Uchiha's over everyone.
But still, he's supposed to be Naruto's polar opposite. The good looks, the natural talent, the entirety of being well liked even by villains is to show case the differences between him and Naruto so we can relate to Naruto more.
But hell I think Naruto's more a sue than Sasuke, having all this build up and emphasis on him being such a lamer and a underdog only to spring up a epic build up as him being ninja jesus, the strongest ninja since Pain and Madara and the King of the ninja world all because his father was once king and his mother apperently was the mary madelene of the story.
Sasuke's build up seems insignificant when you think about it, his clan failed because Senju were better, the leader of the Uchiha's failed because he thought his clan was the shiz but then got owned twice by Konoha, then theirs Sasuke who was supposed to have it made until Naruto started taking his spotlight and then he started getted stalked by creppy snake pedos offering power then being known as a traitor to his village later on a traitor to the world and later falling to the same dude he vowed to avenge his clan against only to find out his bro was a sue to Konoha and then made Sasuke even more unlikeable to fans.
Yeah, I don't really have anything to say.
