I was under impression it was about the same time.

I thought it was before. Not that I think there is really a clear time line anyway. But I thought Oro had left Konoha before the last war...actually I thought all the Sannin had left before the last war.

Timeline wise, Orochimaru didn't leave until Minato was selected to be the successor, which caused him to be less cautious with his experiments

Jiraiya left right after to keep an eye on Orochimaru and Akatsuki when Orochimaru joined it.

So I suppose the two of them were around during the Third Ninja World War.

Tsunade left when Nawaki and Dan died, which was late in the Second Ninja World War, so that happened before the others.

I think the second and third wars weren't very far apart.

NemeBro
Wait, was it not because his first choice, Orochimaru, was a stupid loser wannabe scientist gai and was ****ing up the village with his science?

Continuity error?

I think Kanto was just joking about the marriage being the reason, but it'd be kinda funny 🙂

The mad science thing? Just an excuse!

Well for a time Gaara was both the kazekage and a jinjiruki of his village...so the mold can be broken.

He started out as the old Kazekage's son after all.

Yagura's also a jinchuuriki kage.

They're chosen based on relation to Kage... although, the Uzumaki ones are sorta an exception, being chosen based on being from an allied clan... but then can do various things with their lives after that.

On a side note, I want to know how every village can somehow subdue these tailed beasts so friggin conviniently. I mean the kyuubi is the most powerful force to date that we've seen in the Narutoverse(10 tails is just speculation) and its been made somebody's pet up to 5 times. Oh and by convinietly I mean the following:

Two ways. One, there are specific powers that can control them.

Two, when they're running wild and not in a host, there are sealing powers that work, but they generally require lots of effort and often at *least* one S-class to do.

The real value of the Biju is it's sort of a way to manufacture an S-class ninja, and one who has noticeably more strategic power in a battle than most S-class nin to boot.

"#2 Village elder of varying village": I know! Lets **** up somebody's future with a seal that we somehow acquired through a previous generation and hope it works at no expense to us.

"#1 Village elder of varying village": I'm sure that plan can't go wrong!

Sorry about the ridiculous post, I just wanted to get that out.

The villages *know* the biju come at great cost, and know it messes up the jinchuuriki's life (though not necessarily irrepairably), but it's just worth the combat power to do so.

That was made especially clear in the 8-tails case. Most of their jinchuuriki couldn't handle it and it broke free on occasion, and each time they lost experienced ninja taking it down and re-sealing it, and yet it was such a disincentive for others to take them on in a war that it was worth it.

That's part of why people hate the jinchuuriki, because people know the monster could come

Well...when you put it like that, Naruto still does fit due to beeing the son of the late 4th Hokage. So that excuses him from some awkward pairing right?

And there lies the problem. From what I've been hearing, the endeavor for capturing the tailed-beasts has been an optional side route to gaining power within the land. Jinjiruki's are the Narutoverse's equivalent to a nuke.

Unless there was some epic and tragic story of how each biju was screwing up everyone's land prior to ninja interference, then I still think the village elders and whatever lord that controls there land are just screwing with people and their villages for more power. Although being in constant war for nearly the whole time period before the series kind of excuses this.

Just a guess...

But....

I think Madara is actually an Uzamaki...which would explain why he lived for so long. He collects eyes, which would indicate why he has an EMS? Maybe he defeated an EMS user...maybe Madara?

That would make everything make sense: Madara being really hold, living for a long time, having EMS, but not being an Uzamaki.

If I'm right about this, you guys owe me 32 internets.

There is diamond shape on Mito Uzumaki's head. Any chance that could be the same seal as the one Tsunade uses for her Creation Rebirth?
After all, the Uzumaki clan did specialize in sealing techniques, and Mito was Tsunade's grand-mother.

Anyway, I guess we know how Kushina died. The Fox was extracted from Kushina. Also, Naruto was born with the Whisker marks. For some reason, I thought the whisker marks were there due to the Fox sealed inside him.

The last chapter indicated that some of the biju's chakra goes towards naturing the baby.

Well, the 10-tails was a huge threat that the Sage of Six Paths saved the world from centuries ago. The individual biju are less so, but left to their own devices still do cause some trouble.

And that power not only prevents other nations from taking over, but also discourages them from trying to start trouble in the first place, and were handed out specifically to create a balance between the lands to discourage war, so it's pretty understandable why it's done.

Oh! Kushina probably fought in the Third Ninja World War as jinchuuriki, didn't she?

No, the energy that keeps the seal in place goes toward nurturing the baby. There's no clear indication that it's the Kyuubi's chakra specifically.

I'm REALLY glad someone posted on this.

What I said, originally, is correct.

Let us go on a chain of logic:

We know that the Bijuu chakra and host chakra mix up with each other.

We also know that the chakra energies from the seal are used up towards the baby, from your link.

But did you know that the energies used are from both the host and the sealer?

Check it:

Therefore, some of the Bijuu's chakra is used up in helping the baby grow.

That's only true because Naruto's seal is built to allow that to happen. It is not true for all seals in general, and it's said that the seal on Naruto is "based on" the earlier Eddy seals, not that they are the same.

I think you posted the wrong scan, because that one doesn't show anything of the sort.

Only the case for Naruto as far as we know. Naruto's Eight Trigrams Sealing Style is set up in a such a way that the Kyuubi's chakra can naturally spill out and mix with his chakra. We do not know if that is what happens for the other Jinchurikii.
B had to ask the Hachibi for its chakra in his fight against Kisame.

Dumbest tagline i've ever heard at the end of this chapter. "Who's face is behind the mask?" Um... Madara's? Since you already told us who it was?
never really heard anyone mention it, but the first time i saw that guy in the mast a while ago, i thought it was weird that his mask has the senju clan's symbol on it.

why would madara rock that?

worst... cliffhanger... ever!!!

and it seems Naruto had the "whiskers" even before he became the host, i always thought it was a trait he acquired from being the host

DDM and I are debating about it right now 😛.

Figured you'd say that as I thought the same thing until I realized that Bee said his seal was weaker than Naruto's and Gaara's chakra obviously mixed with the one tails.

Bee also used techniques, in normal mode, that came from his tailed-beast, as did Gaara.

Naruto had to ask for the 9-tails chakra a lot. Like...a whole bunch. Why would he have to ask if the chakra leak was enough? Simple: it's a very slow leak. Also, I thought Naruto's was called the Four Element seal?

Also, Minato learned his sealing techniques from...you guessed it: Kushina. He was also the one trying to hold the seal in place on Kushina. It is extremely unlikely that Kushina had a seal vastly different than the one Naruto has as those are the seals that the Uzamaki's came up with.

Fact of the matter is: the 9-tails chakra mixed with Kushina's, just like ever other Jinchuriki's. It would be speculation to say that the Bijuu's chakra does not mix with their hosts as every host we have a little bit of story on, gets some chakra from their tailed beast.

We know the host has to struggle to keep the seal in place, and Kushina is no exception: she had to focus to help Minato get the seal stronger, again.

On top of that, we know that her Chakra, more than any other person's besides Naruto, is mixed with the Kyuubi's due to the advanced nature of the seal used by the Uzamaki clan.

I wouldn't call it a debate as much as I would call it a posting feast, reminding each other of stuff from Naruto (I forgot about the leaky seal that Naruto had). 😄

The Whiskers were likely due to being the son of a host, come to think of it.

Holy CRAP!

Did anyone watch the last episode of Shippuuden?

That was, by far, the best episode, to date.

It looks like some of the fighting animation got a radical make-over. It looks a lot closer to how "Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury" animation is done.

I suggest anyone and everyone watch the shit.

youre late 😛

it was indeed awesome!

i wish the anime was canon. the kyuubi was displaying hulk level powers and stuff
