Am I the only one who thinks the fight was an attempt to imitate Naruto vs Sasuke with a little Naruto vs Orochimaru thrown in? Seriously, why the hell did Pain decide to have water?

No, Naruto characters have way above human durability except for when the plot calls for them to be closer to human.

They've shown more durability than that pretty often. I think Naruto or Sasuke left a small crater in a cliff side in the fight at the end of part 1, no tails or cursed seal. There's been a fair amount of slamming around. The kinds of hits a lot of ninja do would inflict far more damage to a normal human than a ninja (like Lee kicking someone up 20 feet in the air, or how much Hinata was slammed around last ep. She was bloody, but you or I would be in far worse shape than that, many broken bones or dead).

That said, this is still rather extreme and kinda silly.

I'm just wondering, did the animation hinder anyone from enjoying chibaku tensei that badly? I thought at least someone would say something about it; It looked pretty cool to me.

i loved it animated, especially when pein raises his arms like he was doing a spirit bomb

the anime makes nagato look pretty unstoppable by most of the characters if not all. hopefully the sasuke/raikage fight is extended and shit like this one was.

nagato's chackra well is enormous considering all the stuff he did just to capture naruto

I have a sneaking suspicion that we'll be getting another Filler arc after this one ends with Nagato's death and the Village's approval of Naruto. >_>
That just leaves ~60 chapters worth of material, and the next arc doesn't end until Team 7 is reunited.

I hope to god Sasuke vs Raikage isn't animated by whatever studio did this episode.

I'm wishing a super bunch that it is done by the same peeps with the same exact style for a couple of reasons.

1. To spite you.

2. Cause it's awesome.

But mostly because it's awesome. I haven't had that much fun watching Naruto, ever.

The C Tensei moment was just the BEST, man. You may like bland, boring, animation, but I like mine lively and artistic.

actually, tiny screens with the animation looped should be surgically attached to kandy's inner eyelids.

lol... I love animation like that... if it's like, Paprika or Paranoia Agent or something. This is a (pretty stupid) shonen anime about ninja.

Though I do recognize some parts of it... like the facial expressions (Sasuke does the same stretched out look when Naruto yells at him).

and... when orochimaru punched sarutobi he did the same thing.

that animation is used for all the big fights: sasuke/naruto, orochimaru/third, sasori/chiyo&sakura, hidan&kakuzu/shikamaru's team&kakashi, deidara/sasuke, sasuke/itachi, bee/hebi, and naruto/pein. 🙂

hope i didn't miss any. i don't think jiraya/pein had it

The animation is balls though.

that was both badass and foreboding. The beginning of the first *act* of this day? I think we're going to see more bad stuff happen than even just a kyuubi rampage.

Also Kushina's damned tough to not be dead... though I wouldn't be surprised if that wouldn't be eventually fatal without help. I wonder if she's going to take action again.

Plus we get to see Lil' Itachi!

It blows that we had to wait 500 chapters for the explanation of an event that was mentioned at the beginning of the f***ing series.

Either way, I liked the chapter. Though I wish the chapters would be just a wee bit longer.

Well, it's way more dramatic for it to come out now. 'A big Kyuubi rampage and the death of the Fourth' was plenty to start out with.
