It was Naruto's incompetence and the awesome power of the 9-Tails that makes Naruto FINALLY getting control of his Bijuu, worth it.

Stop being humble about Naruto's growth. Kishimoto basically haulted Naruto so the story could be extended, when he learned FRS in a matter of minutes, mastered Sage Mode with the Frogs and got the Key to the Kyuubi's power, he stoped being a hardworker long time again,

Naruto started with the 9-tails and it did help him win when he should have died, multiple times...however, he never had control over it like other hosts did.
And yet, the plot just placed him on an island he could have gone to since shippuden started to learn to control the Kyuubi. Face it, Naruto was never in danger, because the Kyuubi is a bijuu depending on Naruto's life to stay alive. And more importantly, the Kyuubi isn't that badass, it's been everyones ***** since the start.

Naruto is just finally catching up to what a host should be like. So it's not giving him a powerup, at all.
Naruto didn't get this way by hardwork, just plot exention. He's basically a gary stu with the idiot savant theme for him.
Also, it's not like getting eyes transplanted: Naruto, just the same as always, fought to get this power at great detriment to his life.
Naruto didn't do anything by himself to deserve the full power of the nien tails, he just had to have his parents and Bee baby him from getting pwned by the nine tail fox. And determint my ass, the Kyuubi has been trying to control him, but he's always bailed Naruto out of shit he was to weak to get himself out of.
He almost died by getting all of his chakra absorbed by the 9-Tails. If it weren't for his mother stepping in, he would have died.
But he didn't die, he was lucky he had all this help or he would have died and been controled by the Kyuubi. Thats how lucky Naruto is. Sasuke, who's helped him learn to control his power ups and baby him to use them.

Saske?

Well, that's easy: "I'm angry and want a power up. Hey, Madara, transplant my brothers eyes that you conveniently kept so I could get a powerup."

Have you missed all the times Sasuke had to get almost killed and shitstomped by people to fully unlock the potential of his new sharingan powers. When Sasuke nearly risked his life and needed to be saved constantly by Madara or he'd die just mastering his new jutsu. Thats clear enough for me that Sasuke didn't get this stuff the easy way.

Naruto's character: "Naruto, you could die from this."

Naruto: "I have to do it for the village and for Sasuke! So bet it!"

*Naruto goes through some very serious life threatening training or event and succeeds*

Sasuke character: I got stabbed by sight swords and a cloak bijuu blothesline, I unlock Amaterasu.

Sasuke: I get man handled by the Cloud Kage and need to work out a way from getting one shotted. Susanoo and Enton.

Sasuke: I go through a gauntlet of powerful ninja who rule their lands, I deveop a way to tank their attacks.

Sasuke: I fight the sole person responsible for my clans death, need a bunch of new tricks so I can win. Or I'll die.

Yeah, Sasuke needs to almost fight to the death in ever battle to get to a pont of Naruto's level while Naruto is sitting back, laughing with techers and being babysat through everything.

Naruto works for his power ups, Sasuke doesn't. This is why I like Naruto and not Sasuke.
Sasuke works for his shit just as much as Naruto does, it's called Off Panel Training. Besides, Sasuke has to fight to train his skills not the other way around.

The only thin ever handed to Naruto was the Bijuu, and that was detrimental to Naruto for most of his life...even messing with his ability to mold chakra properly...making him a sh*tty ninja. He finally sees some good from his Bijuu and now all of a sudden, it's an insta power-up like almost all of Sasuke's? I dunno if I can buy into that.
So, your just one bias fanboy ignoring the context of characters you dislike in favor of characters you like.

For the flip-side of this, look at what happened to Naruto.

Superficially, for the last 50 or so chapters he's looked like anything like a Gary Stu.

- He's had an emotional breakdown of having his worldview shattered by logic.
- He was chastised for his naivety in front of a powerful leader after begging like a dog.
- He had a grievous lapse in moral judgment by threatening the Raikage with dangerous consequences if he doesn't bring Sasuke back alive.
- Naruto was humiliated by his best friend in front of the whole village.
- Naruto was humiliated by a foreign visitor, including being beat up and spat on.
- Naruto came to the uncomfortable realization that his friends don't trust him because he's so pigheaded.
- Naruto hyperventilated and passed out in the snow.

But. Those things were not written to show that Naruto isn't the perfect messiah of truth and light and that he's not as much of a hero as he thinks he is. On the contrary, the reason why Naruto was put through all of those things was to make everyone else look bad. The Raikage was the one who was supposed to be in the wrong, not Naruto. Sakura was supposed to be a selfish *****, not Naruto. Naruto's friends were stabbing him in the back, not Naruto being so unreliable that they had to do it for his sake. His hyperventilating wasn't done to show that he was having an emotional breakdown caused by an unhealthy obsession, that was to show him being overwhelmed with the responsibilities of destiny and the chains of commanding!

All of those things were done in service to make Naruto look even more like a messiah of ponies and rainbows. Look at how much Naruto is suffering and struggling! He hyperventilated! Don't you just feel for him?

The point I'm trying to make is that Gary Stuism is achieved by intent, not by characterization. Naruto for the past 50+ chapters has been a Gary Stu, Sasuke for all of Part II... not so much. He's just had his character butchered in a different way.

Are you kidding me, a Futton broke through it.

Think about a Kyuubi powered FRS is gonna do to it.

Naruto is so overpowered, he doesn't even need clones anymore to do rasangans anymore, his chakra has more hax than the infinity gauntlets.

😬 A fuuton that was being powered up broke through just the outer part of an incomplete Susanoo, and barley at that. And Sasuke is undoubtly gonna end up attaining the Yata Mirror...

Again what good will that do him, Naruto's chakra has reaced the highest peak of Rikudou's level.

About the mirror it only deflects elemental attacks with different versions, what happens if Naruto uses meancing ball?

It matters about as much as saying Raikage broke Susanoo.

😕 Um Yata Mirror is stated to deflect any type of attack.

It reflects any attack by altering itself to counter, I don't think it's limited to elemental ones.

NINJUTSU; KEKKEI GENKAI: Susanoo (Mysterious, All-Encompassing Assistance Ability*)
User: Uchiha Itachi
Offensive; Defensive; Close, Medium, Long ranges; Rank: none

Main text

There are two doujutsu the use of which is allowed exclusively to those who have awakened to the clairvoyant eyes of Heaven, the Mangekyou Sharingan: Amaterasu, which speaks of Light and the material world, and Tsukuyomi, symbolizing the spiritual world and Darkness**. Only in them who hold both of those, dwells the power of the wild, rampaging god... Susanoo. The materialized chakra shapes itself after the wargod's commanding face and powerful physique, and the fierce spirit won't subside until the destruction of all the enemies in its line of sight...!!

There's a reason why Susanoo can boast perfect flawlessness in its offense and defense: the spiritual weapons it holds in both hands. The Sword of Totsuka* in its right hand, which will mow down any kind of enemy, and the Mirror of Yata*, upon which all attacks will bounce back. Substantial or spiritual, and then ninjutsu or physical attacks lose all kinds of significance before the god's efficacy.

Captions

-In the pupils that grasp the principles behind Heaven and Earth, dwells the valorous sword-wielding, shield-bearing Aragami***!!

-Protecting its caster, it destroys the enemy!

-In its left and right hands are held the unparalleled, wondrous Sacred Treasures* of virtues miraculous.

Picture comments

-Only those who have carried mastery of Mangekyou Sharingan - the doujutsu feared by those around it as the strongest - to its extremes will come onto the god's territory. A guardian deity to its caster, it eats away their life at the same time.

-The sake flowing out of the gourd assumes the shape of a sword, becoming the Totsuka! In addition, the souls absorbed by it are sealed there.

-The Sword of Totsuka
One swing of the Sword of Kusanagi* has the power to throw the people it stabs into an genjutsu world of intoxicating dreams, and seal them away for eternity. The sword itself carries a fuuinjutsu.

-The Mirror of Yata
The substance-less spiritual shield. Endowed will all Nature Alterations, it changes its own attributes in response to the attacks it receives, making the jutsu ineffective.

I'd actually have to agree with killermover (for the first time ever) on this whole gary-stu thing. This whole Biju thing was done with the efforts of others. Without his mother and Bee, he would have died. Which means that he was not up to the task of getting this power up, which was supposed to show his personal power over the Kyuubi. Instead it was a team effort where he was protected from every blow while the Kyuubi was set up to take all of his own.

Killermover is right about one thing, Naruto is a Gary Stu now, which is obvious.

I would still argue Sasuke is, but I digress.

I don't think it's fair to call someone a Gary Stu by taking a part of their story in isolation of the rest.

More recent showings of the character take precedence over older ones.

Right now, Naruto is a Gary Stu.

Personally, it isn't so much as Naruto controlling the kyuubi's chakra being a problem more so than it is him becoming ninja god after a subconciouss training session.

On top of that it makes all of his other training periods all but worthless in comparrison. I know he had to mature as a ninja and a person or something on those lines, but Naruto is basically god-moded for the duration of the series. And that kind of sucks!

Plus, the tail forms look way better than this transformation IMO. Along with that, how in the hell did he get Yellow Flash speed? I'm glad he finally learned something new but an explanation would be really helpful.

Nonetheless, I think I might just take back what I said about the guy called Madara. Maybe Sasuke and Naruto will both be killed off! That would be great.

Naruto already had Minato speed while in sage mode. He has two of the 5 best speed feats in Naruto. (One in sage mode, RIGHT when he first started the match against Pain...and one where he launched himself, via his clones, at Pain, before Pain could recharge his push.) Bee hadn't seen Naruto go super speed, yet.

All of your points can be ignored except for a few. What I said is more correct than your obvious bias.

In all of your "Sasuke" examples, he was given powers BEFORE his fights. Yeah, you missed that part, didn't you? 😐

And, it's called "Naruto" not "Sasuke." Don't forget that. 😉

Naruto is also the Chosen One. He should be getting a lot more handed to him. Give Naruto the Sharingan and he would be the best Ninja in the series, by far.

So he's basically Jesus?

Aka one of the original Gary Stus?

If he had the Sharingan and was handed a lot more than what's he getting, you betcha. 🙂

Gary Stuness is a character as a whole, though. It's about entitlement and such- if someone is in a good place after ups and downs and having worked for it, they're not a Gary Stu, if they had it handed to them, they are. Naruto still clawed his way up from a rough childhood and we got to see him fail in major ways often enough.

How they get there is a deciding factor in that, and Naruto's path hasn't been particularly Gary Stu-ish.

he gave naruto THE power up

how much stronger can naruto possibly get? and the nine tails chackra instantly makes him the most powerful character under the sage, with no negative along with it

only thing sasuke has on him now might be genjutsu, the will of the fox isn't there and naruto's genjutsu defense is balls

Really, it was Itachi who worked for his power up.

I guess it could be compared to an extent to Minato giving him Kyuubi... but EMS is admittedly quite a bit easier, you just need a brother who'll decide to die for you and it doesn't require near the wrangling mastering a biju.

Sasuke did work for his others (sharingan awakening, cursed seal, 3 tomoe, mangekyo), to be fair.

He was handed unlimited chakra. I think that > anything anyone else has got.

I still don't think those justify the Yellow Flash technique Naruto used. Then again we're going off of Bee's word who, as you stated, hasn't seen Naruto's speed. Maybe it isn't the Yellow Flash tech but something similar to his Sage mode amp.

If it was Minato's technique, then Naruto has pretty much become the unofficial fastest character in the series; this is due to not only having one of the best speed technique but also not having the drawback of having to use a kunai.

How did Sasuke work for the curse-seal again?

At this point, the original Sennin is the only one that would be stronger than Naruto at this point.(can't remember his name)
