Why wouldn't they work? If fire doesn't melt ice techniques I'd imagine that regular old water wouldn't affect her chakra enhanced paper.
In any case, Madara will of course not die by her hands, but by all counts she could beat him. Madara's a pathetic fighter.

I just do not consider it a "straight fight." Hashirama used a tactic that is perfectly viable, but I do not consider it besting him in a straight fight.

Who has Raikage beaten in a straight fight that we've seen?
Yeah, we haven't seen a fraction of Raikage's or Madara's fights, but latter was the leader of one of the two strongest clans during a time of Global War. He wasn't a 'sit down on his ass and give orders' type leader either.

Of course it's a win. In a straight fight though, with no Kyuubi, they stalemated. Likely more than once.
Hashirama also had control over the other beasts, so it's likely they were used as well, though the Kyuubi was what decided the outcome.
Minato took him on and beat him when he was a shadow of his former self, so it's hard to say if Minato's stronger than Full-Power Madara.
