In dragon ball, the original, I think there was a gourd with almost the same ability too. It even trapped goku if I recall correctly. The gourd probably goes back even further, probably to some ancient japanese myth.

From "Journey to the West". Junior and Senior Kings Silverhorn and Goldenhorn have two magic gourds that can absorb people. They also has three other treasures, which are the treasures shown by Kinkaku and Ginkaku hear.

Neither of us have sigs. 😂

I didn't say anything about you two: just myself. If you guys want to do a good faith thing for me if you're proven wrong by something in the future, that's fine, but I don't require it. I just like to do things "nice" for people when we've been arguing about something for a while. It adds to the "tension" of the situation and makes me not want to be wrong, even more. It's kind of like, "If team A wins, I'll shave my head" type of thing. 😄

Dust seems to be missing....thought we haven't really seen it in action so I can see why it wasn't included.

I do like Storm. But Boil seems to be one of the stronger ones because of it's deadliness. I also rather the lava jutsu, though that might just be my liking of Kurotsuchi.

Storm or Boil'd be my picks for offense. Guided multi-target homing shots, or area-o-melty-death. I think personally I'd go with Storm.

I'm surprised there's not more love for Wood and Ice. They're the most versatile of the releases.

Ice I do like. Wood I do not care for. Yamato has a habit of not doing much.

It seems the release best suited for making shapes of any type. Defensive barrier, bonds, houses, etc.. A lot more precise than Earth.

Offensively it's definitely not as great as most of the others, but it's got high utility.

Hm, thinking about what other "Two Kekkei genkai" combinations would be super-badass....

Mei's Water/Fire/Earth "Acid and lava" is pretty good, both let her control the battlefield, lava by shaping it and boil by filling it with death, and the lava lets her deliver heavy attacks to those who can withstand the

But consider, for a moment, if Haku had lightning and Storm added to his mix. The Demonic Ice Mirrors are nasty, but the attacks coming from them are somewhat limited to his high-precision attacks. Throw in Storm's offensive punch fired when he emerges from the mirrors and he'd be total death, it'd be an utter killzone if he does the dome-of-mirror thing again.

On the flip side, Wood/Ice seems like it'd be largely redundant... they both build stuff and there's a lot of overlap.

Except for me of course. He'd still lose to me. 313

There are a few people he'd still lose to, but even with his unexceptional chakra level and relative inexperience, I'm hard pressed to think of a non-S class that's one of them.

*Maybe* some of the genjutsu Jonin.

A Hyuuga has a good shot at it with kaiten.

And, going by your ranks, I'd give Kimimaro a shot at is as well.

He'd lose to Sasuke Retrieval Gaara. Easily I might add.

~ Perhaps Chouza Akimichi could just grow big and bust up the mirrors.

Just being big wouldn't be enough, he can use mirrors to escape an enemy by making them appear at a distance too.

New chapters out.

Confused the **** outta me.

Darui, you lucky bastard. 😆

One annoying brother down, one to go.

I feel like I'm reading Yu Yu Hakusho reading this fight. Unable to say certain words, and even if it sounds the same with the end of one word and start of another. It's just like what happened to Kuwabara...minus Darui not getting sucked in.

yeah, felt a bit similar to Yu Yu Hakusho for me too. still it makes for some interesting abilities. and I never would've expected the guy to bust out a transformation like that. makes me wonder how much of the kyuubi's chakra they absorbed.

Am I the only person who went "Daww" at what A said?

This is the best chapter of Naruto I've seen in a while.

I didn't know Kishi could draw this good.

Even Darui can barely use the treasures...? Chakra intensive indeed.

More interesting was Kakuzu knowing about Kinkaku's fox mode. Wonder if they've fought before?

He's from Waterfall, which is not super-near cloud, but not super-far either, travel between the two to countries in between and thus reasons to clash should be relatively common.

I think he was a missing nin by the point they did their biggest stuff, so that might extend his range of motion too.
